Summary

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu/gfx9: replace BUG_ON() with WARN_ON() There's no need to crash the kernel for these cases. (cherry picked from commit b71604f8685b0eba07866f4e8dc30f93e1931054) A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's amdgpu graphics driver.

This vulnerability could lead to a system crash due to an unhandled error condition. By replacing a critical error mechanism with a warning, the kernel is now more resilient, preventing potential Denial of Service (DoS) situations.

BUG_ON() on error paths forces kernel panic. Systems without AMD GPUs are not affected.
