Summary

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: s390: vsie: Add missing radix_tree_preload() in _gaccess_shadow_fault() Add missing radix_tree_preload() in _gaccess_shadow_fault() to guarantee forward progress. The core of _gaccess_shadow_fault() has been split into ___gaccess_shadow_fault() in order to simplify locking.

A flaw was found in the kernel's KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine) s390 vsie component. A missing `radix_tree_preload()` call in the `_gaccess_shadow_fault()` function can prevent the system from guaranteeing forward progress.

This could lead to system instability or a Denial of Service (DoS), where the system becomes unresponsive. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 5.5 (CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H).
