Summary

A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's `drm/xe/pf` component. The Physical Function (PF) incorrectly attempts to process `FAST_REQUEST` or `EVENT` messages, which are not part of the defined Virtual Function to Physical Function (VFPF) Application Binary Interface (ABI) protocol.

This misprocessing can lead to a violation of the VFPF ABI protocol and may trigger an assert on the PF side, potentially resulting in a denial of service. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 5.5 (CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H).

Weakness: CWE-1287. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.

Red Hat does not currently list a fixing RHSA for this CVE.

Affected products named by the advisory: Red Hat package: kernel-rt.
