Summary

A flaw was found in Trix, a what-you-see-is-what-you-get rich text editor. A remote attacker can exploit this stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability by pasting specially crafted HTML into the editor.

This allows a malicious javascript: Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) to be embedded, which can then execute arbitrary code in the victim's browser when another user renders and clicks the content. No Red Hat products ship a vulnerable version of this component.

Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 4.6 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N). Weakness: CWE-79.
