Summary

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfs: don't walk off the end of a null sc->sa.agi_bp in AGI repair LOLLM noticed a longstanding bug where xrep_iunlink_walk_ondisk_bucket tries to walk ragi->sc->sa.agi_bp to rebuild the unlinked inode lists.

Unfortunately, it's possible for agi_bp to be null if the buffer verifier fails, so we have to use ragi->agi_bp (which skips verifier checks) instead. This vulnerability occurs during the Allocation Group Information (AGI) repair process, specifically in the `xrep_iunlink_walk_ondisk_bucket` function.

If the buffer verifier fails, a null pointer dereference can occur when attempting to rebuild unlinked inode lists, potentially leading to a system crash and a Denial of Service (DoS). Red Hat severity: Low — CVSS 5.5 (CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H).

Weakness: CWE-476. Red Hat lists Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 as not affected.
