Summary

A flaw was found in the GridFS component of the MongoDB Rust Driver. An authenticated user can exploit this vulnerability by manipulating a file identifier, causing it to be misinterpreted as a query condition.

This improper handling of special elements in data query logic can lead to unauthorized disclosure of stored file content or result in a denial of service by deleting all GridFS file chunks. Red Hat severity: Important — CVSS 8.8 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H).
