Summary

A flaw was found in ocfs2, a component of the Linux kernel. A remote attacker, by sending a specially crafted Distributed Lock Manager (DLM) migration message, could exploit a lack of validation in the `dlm_mig_lockres_handler`.

This flaw allows for an out-of-bounds write to the heap, potentially leading to arbitrary code execution. Additionally, an out-of-bounds read could cause a system panic, resulting in a denial of service.

Red Hat severity: Important — CVSS 6.6 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H). Weakness: CWE-787.

Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4. Red Hat does not currently list a fixing RHSA for this CVE.
