An attacker who can send HTML chat messages (via Matrix or XMPP) can inject arbitrary styled content, phishing links, and CSS that manipulates the chat UI. This vulnerability was fixed in Thunderbird 152.0.1 and Thunderbird 140.12.1. Red Hat Product Security rates the severity of this flaw as determined by the Mozilla Foundation Security Advisory. Red Hat severity: Important — CVSS 7.5 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H). Weakness: CWE-79.
