Medium [CVE-2026-68208] Fix the error code of devm_kzalloc in vip_probe_slice
CVE-2026-68208Source published Source updated
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: ti: vpe: Fix the error code of devm_kzalloc() in vip_probe_slice() In vip_probe_slice(), the error check for devm_kzalloc() incorrectly uses PTR_ERR_OR_ZERO() which returns 0 for NULL pointer. Return -ENOMEM for devm_kzalloc() failure. An incorrect error check in the `vip_probe_slice()` function, specifically when handling memory allocation failures from `devm_kzalloc()`, could lead to a denial of service. A local attacker could potentially exploit this to cause system instability or unresponsiveness. This issue affects TI VPE driver. vip_probe_slice() uses PTR_ERR_OR_ZERO on devm_kzalloc NULL, returning 0 instead of -ENOMEM. Embedded OMAP VPE only. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 5.5…
