Medium [CVE-2026-74393] Fix memory leak in drm_syncobj_find_fence
CVE-2026-74393Source published Source updated
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/syncobj: Fix memory leak in drm_syncobj_find_fence() Commit 18226ba52159 ("drm/syncobj: reject invalid flags in drm_syncobj_find_fence") forgot to take into account the fact that drm_syncobj_find() takes a reference to syncobj and returns early without dropping the reference, leading to memory leaks. Reported by: Sam Spencer The `drm_syncobj_find_fence()` function fails to properly release a reference to a `syncobj` object, which is acquired by `drm_syncobj_find()`. This oversight leads to a memory leak. A local attacker could exploit this vulnerability to consume system memory, potentially leading to a Denial of Service (DoS). Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 5.5 (CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H).…
