High [CVE-2026-74705] fix potential use-after-free in tunnel segmentation
CVE-2026-74705Source published Source updated
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: udp: fix potential use-after-free in tunnel segmentation __skb_udp_tunnel_segment() gets the UDP header before ensuring the tunnel header is in the skb head. If the pull reallocates skb->head, the saved UDP header pointer is no longer valid. This vulnerability arises when the system attempts to process network packets, specifically in the __skb_udp_tunnel_segment() function. An attacker could potentially exploit a use-after-free condition, where the system attempts to use memory that has already been released, leading to system instability or potentially arbitrary code execution. Red Hat severity: Important — CVSS 8.8 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H). Weakness: CWE-416. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat…
