High [CVE-2026-64624] Arbitrary code execution via malicious RDP files

FreeRDP before 3.28.0 treats lines beginning with forward slash in RDP files as raw command-line options, exposing the entire CLI parser surface to untrusted files. Attackers can craft malicious RDP files with /rdp2tcp, /cert:ignore, or /drive options to execute arbitrary commands, bypass certificate validation, or expose local filesystems without user interaction. If a victim opens a maliciously crafted.rdp file, an attacker can silently inject CLI flags to execute arbitrary code, expose local filesystems, or bypass certificate validation. A flaw was found in libcupsfilters and cups-filters. The PNG image reading function creates a libpng reader without installing an error recovery handler, causing the CUPS image filter process to abort when processing a malformed PNG file. An unauthenticated attacker could exploit this by submitting a specially crafted PNG print job, leading to denial of service of the in-flight print job. High [CVE-2026-64621] Double-free vulnerability via crafted.rdp file leading to potential remote code execution

FreeRDP before 3.28.0 (affected 3.x through 3.27.1) contains a double-free vulnerability in freerdp_client_rdp_file_apply_to_settings() (client/common/file.c) when parsing the selectedmonitors field of a.rdp connection file. The MonitorIds array is allocated through the settings object, and a raw non-owning pointer to it is freed on the strtoul error path without clearing settings->MonitorIds, leaving it dangling; at teardown freerdp_settings_free() frees the same buffer again. An attacker who convinces a victim to open a crafted.rdp file with oversized monitor tokens can trigger a size-controlled double-free in any FreeRDP CLI client (xfreerdp/sdl-freerdp/wlfreerdp) in the default configuration. A flaw was found in FreeRDP, a free implementation of the Remote Desktop Protocol. This could potentially allow for arbitrary code execution on the affected system. This Important flaw in FreeRDP clients allows for arbitrary code execution when a user opens a specially crafted `.rdp` connection file. The vulnerability stems from a double-free condition during the parsing of the `selectedmonitors` field, which can be triggered by an attacker convincing a victim to open a malicious file. This risk is elevated as it affects default configurations of FreeRDP command-line interface clients. Red Hat severity: Important — CVSS 7.3 (CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:L/I:H/A:H).

High [CVE-2026-64620] Remote code execution or denial of service via heap-based buffer overflow

FreeRDP before 3.28.0 (affected out_length, so out-of-bounds bytes are written before the bounds check. On the server side, when a client selects RDP Standard Security, the encrypted client random is decrypted into a fixed 32-byte buffer. Because the server publishes its RSA public key, an unauthenticated attacker can forge a ciphertext whose decrypted value is up to the full modulus length (e.g. 256 bytes for RSA-2048), overflowing the 32-byte heap buffer by up to ~224 attacker-controlled bytes pre-authentication, resulting in denial of service. A heap-based buffer overflow in FreeRDP's crypto_rsa_common() allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to trigger a denial of service or potential remote code execution. By sending a crafted ciphertext during RDP Standard Security key establishment, the attacker can force a data write before the size is validated, resulting in memory corruption. An unauthenticated remote attacker can trigger a heap buffer overflow in FreeRDP by sending a crafted ciphertext during key establishment. Red Hat rates this vulnerability as Important rather than Critical due to inherent mitigations in Red Hat environments. Specifically, RHEL's built-in memory defenses (such as glibc heap hardening) reliably reduce the threat of remote code execution down to a localized service crash (Denial of Service).

High [CVE-2026-9323] Predictable session IDs lead to remote code execution and information disclosure

The urwid web display backend (urwid/display/web.py) generates web session identifiers (urwid_id) in Screen.start() by concatenating two random.randrange(10**9) calls that use Python's Mersenne Twister PRNG, which is not cryptographically secure. Each call consumes approximately 30 bits of PRNG state, and the Mersenne Twister internal state is approximately 19,937 bits, so an attacker who observes approximately 334 session IDs (for example via the X-Urwid-ID HTTP response header) can fully reconstruct the internal state and predict all past and future session IDs (Path B). The same identifier is also used as the filename of a FIFO created in the world-listable /tmp directory (for example /tmp/urwid375487765176907690.in), so any local user on the host can list /tmp to enumerate active session tokens directly (Path A). With a valid session ID, an attacker can read the victim's terminal screen via the polling endpoint, inject keystrokes into the victim's session (yielding OS-level code execution with the session owner's privileges if the session runs a shell), and inject exit sequences or flood the FIFO to terminate or crash the session.

High [CVE-2026-16118] heap-based buffer overflow in _xdg_mime_magic_parse_magic_line in xdgmimemagic.c

A flaw was found in xdgmime. A heap-based buffer overflow can be triggered in _xdg_mime_magic_parse_magic_line() in the xdgmimemagic.c file on little-endian systems when an attacker-controlled MIME magic file in a user-writable XDG data location (e.g., in the $XDG_DATA_HOME/mime/magic path) is parsed by an application performing MIME type detection (e.g., via g_content_type_guess()). When performing byte-swap, incorrect pointer arithmetic on the write side causes an out-of-bounds write of 2 bytes, resulting in an application crash or memory corruption. Also, only little-endian systems are vulnerable. Due to these reasons, this issue has been rated with a moderate severity. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 7.1 (CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:H). Weakness: CWE-122. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10.0 Extended Update Support; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.2 Update Services for SAP Solutions; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.4 Update Services for SAP Solutions; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.6 Extended Update Support; Red Hat Update Infrastructure 5; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7. High [CVE-2026-13713] YAML::Syck: Denial of Service via crafted YAML document

YAML::Syck versions before 1.47 for Perl allow a use-after-free and double-free via an anchor node freed while still on the parser value stack. In the bundled libsyck, when an anchor name is redefined or removed, syck_hdlr_add_anchor and syck_hdlr_remove_anchor free the node stored under that name with syck_free_node. That node can still be live on the parser's value stack, so syck_hdlr_add_node reaches it again and frees it a second time. On a normal build the 48-byte node chunk is freed twice and the interpreter aborts. Anchors need no special flags, so this is reached on the default Load path, and a 7-byte document that redefines an anchor triggers it. Any caller that runs Load or LoadFile on an untrusted document that redefines an anchor mid-parse crashes the interpreter, a denial of service. This vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) by providing a specially crafted YAML document. This Important vulnerability in `perl-YAML-Syck` can lead to a denial of service when processing untrusted YAML documents. The flaw, a use-after-free and double-free, causes the interpreter to crash if a specially crafted YAML document redefines an anchor during parsing. This poses a risk to Red Hat systems that handle external YAML input without sufficient validation. Red Hat severity: Important — CVSS 7.5 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H).

High [CVE-2026-5674] Sandbox escape and arbitrary code execution via malicious library loading

A flaw was found in PipeWire, a multimedia server. This vulnerability allows an attacker to escape sandboxed applications, such as Flatpak, by exploiting PipeWire's PulseAudio compatibility layer. An attacker with minimal permissions within a sandboxed environment can load a malicious library, leading to arbitrary code execution outside the sandbox and potential compromise of the user's system. Important: This flaw in PipeWire allows for a sandbox escape, enabling arbitrary code execution outside of sandboxed environments, such as Flatpak applications, when minimal permissions are granted. Red Hat products utilizing PipeWire's PulseAudio compatibility layer are susceptible, as an attacker can load a malicious library from within a sandboxed process, bypassing isolation mechanisms. Red Hat severity: Important — CVSS 8.8 (CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H). Weakness: CWE-427. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10.0 Extended Update Support; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.2 Update Services for SAP Solutions; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.4 Update Services for SAP Solutions; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.6 Extended Update Support. High [CVE-2026-14957] badly formatted X.509 certificate can cause an assertion failure that crashes the daemon process

In FIPS mode, Libreswan's add_decoded_cert() function calls CERT_ExtractPublicKey() and asserts that the result is not NULL. However, CERT_ExtractPublicKey() returns NULL when public key extraction fails, for example if the RSA exponent is set to 0. A remote attacker can send a malformed X.509 certificate in a CERT payload to trigger the assertion, causing the pluto daemon to abort and restart. Continued exploitation causes a denial of service. No remote code execution is possible. Both IKEv1 and IKEv2 are affected. The vulnerability is only exploitable when both the OS and libreswan are running in FIPS mode and at least one CA certificate is loaded. The CERT payload is processed before peer authentication, so no credentials are needed to exploit this. Configurations using only PreSharedKey (PSK) authentication with no CA certificates loaded in the NSS database are not vulnerable. A flaw was found in Libreswan. An unauthenticated remote attacker can send a specially crafted X.509 certificate payload during an IKEv1 or IKEv2 exchange. This flaw occurs when Libreswan is operating in FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standards) mode and processing a certificate with an invalid public key, such as an RSA exponent of zero. This can trigger an assertion failure, leading to the termination of the daemon process and a denial of service.
