Medium [CVE-2024-58379] Denial of Service via specially crafted emails with data URLs or embedded attachments
nodemailer before 6.9.9 contains a regular expression denial of service vulnerability in email parsing when attachDataUrls parameter is set or processing embedded file attachments. Attackers can send specially crafted emails with malicious data URLs or embedded attachments to cause the event loop to hang and deny service. A flaw was found in Nodemailer. A remote attacker can exploit a regular expression denial of service (ReDoS) vulnerability by sending specially crafted emails containing malicious data URLs or embedded attachments. This can cause the email parsing process to hang, leading to a denial of service for the affected system. This Moderate flaw in Nodemailer, a dependency in several Red Hat products, allows a remote attacker to trigger a Regular Expression Denial of Service (ReDoS). This impact is considered Moderate as it requires specific input and results in service disruption rather than data compromise or arbitrary code execution. Red Hat products ship with newer, unaffected versions of Nodemailer and are not impacted. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 5.3 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:L). Weakness: CWE-1333. Red Hat lists Red Hat Developer Hub; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; Red Hat Hardened Images; Self-service automation portal 2 as not affected.
Medium [CVE-2026-82556] Server-side request forgery via repository migration
Server-side request forgery via repository migration. Red Hat rates this moderate (CVSS 6.3). Affected products named by the advisory: Assisted Installer for Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 2; AWS Load Balancer Operator; Builds for Red Hat OpenShift; cert-manager Operator for Red Hat OpenShift; and 53 more. Affected products named by the advisory: Compliance Operator; Confidential Compute Attestation; Cryostat 4; Custom Metric Autoscaler operator for Red Hat Openshift; and 49 more.
Medium [CVE-2026-55858] Silent data corruption due to character set mismatch
MariaDB Connector/J is used to connect applications developed in Java to MariaDB and MySQL databases. Prior to 2.7.14, 3.3.5, 3.4.3, and 3.5.9, the connector encodes and decodes protocol text and performs client-side escaping under the assumption that the connection character set is UTF-8. The server can report a mid-session change to character_set_client through OK-packet session-state tracking, including a change caused by SET NAMES, a stored routine or trigger, server configuration, or a hostile server. If character_set_client changes to a non-UTF-8 value, the driver continues to read and write UTF-8 while the server interprets the same bytes under another encoding, causing silent data corruption and a client/server charset-confusion mismatch that can defeat byte-wise quoting or escaping. The fix accepts only utf8, utf8mb3, or utf8mb4 after initialization; any other value causes SQLException with SQLState 08000 and closes the connection. This issue is fixed in versions 2.7.14, 3.3.5, 3.4.3, and 3.5.9. The connector incorrectly assumes a UTF-8 character set for communication, even if the database server changes its client character set to a non-UTF-8 value during a session. This mismatch can lead to silent data corruption, where data is written and read incorrectly, and may also allow attackers to bypass security mechanisms like byte-wise quoting or escaping.
Medium [CVE-2026-55857] Information Disclosure via Insecure PAM Dialog Authentication
MariaDB Connector/J is used to connect applications developed in Java to MariaDB and MySQL databases. Prior to 2.7.14, 3.3.5, 3.4.3, and 3.5.9, PAM dialog authentication can be coerced into transmitting the account password over an insecure connection. The mysql_clear_password plugin is gated behind a secure transport, but the sibling PAM handler SendPamAuthPacketFactory, named dialog by the server, does not declare that requirement and inherits the default secure-required value false; older branches implement the same affected behavior in SendPamAuthPacket. A hostile or man-in-the-middle server can send an Authentication Switch Request for dialog over plain TCP, causing the driver to return the user's password in cleartext when sslMode=DISABLE and restrictedAuth=null, which is the default configuration. Properly verified TLS and local Unix sockets are not exposed to this transport vector. This issue is fixed in versions 2.7.14, 3.3.5, 3.4.3, and 3.5.9. A remote attacker or a man-in-the-middle server can exploit a vulnerability in the PAM dialog authentication mechanism. This flaw allows the attacker to coerce the connector into transmitting account passwords over an insecure connection when default configurations are used. Consequently, the user's password can be intercepted in cleartext, leading to sensitive information disclosure.
Medium [CVE-2026-55856] Cleartext password disclosure via man-in-the-middle during initial handshake
MariaDB Connector/J is used to connect applications developed in Java to MariaDB and MySQL databases. Prior to 2.7.14, 3.3.5, 3.4.3, and 3.5.9, when a Java application connects with sslMode=verify-full or sslMode=verify-ca, supplies a password, and does not configure serverSslCert or trustStore, Connector/J can accept an untrusted self-signed certificate through the fallbackToSystemTrustStore=true ephemeral trust manager and record its certFingerprint for later identity binding. The OK-packet and authentication-switch paths enforce the certificate fingerprint, but the initial-handshake path does not. HandshakeResponse.encode() can therefore build and send a mysql_clear_password response before checking certFingerprint!= null &&!isMitMProof(), sslMode, or whether the authentication plugin is resistant to a man-in-the-middle, and the initial path also bypasses restrictedAuth. An active man-in-the-middle or hostile server can present a self-signed certificate, claim to be MariaDB, select mysql_clear_password as the initial authentication plugin, and receive the full database password before the connection is rejected. This issue is fixed in versions 2.7.14, 3.3.5, 3.4.3, and 3.5.9. This allows the MITM to receive the full database password in cleartext before the connection is rejected, leading to sensitive information disclosure.
Medium [CVE-2026-55520] Denial of Service via exponential backtracking in robots.txt URL wildcard matching
Protego is a pure-Python robots.txt parser with support for modern conventions. Prior to 0.6.2, protego._urlpattern._URLPattern._prepare_pattern_for_regex translates every asterisk in an Allow or Disallow directive into a lazy regular-expression wildcard, so a directive containing many asterisks creates exponential backtracking. Protego.parse processes a crafted robots.txt file, protego. Protego.can_fetch can spend an attacker-controlled period matching a near-miss URL and deny service to the crawler. The vulnerable path is src/protego/_urlpattern.py in the _URLPattern match logic. This issue is fixed in version 0.6.2. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by providing a crafted robots.txt file containing numerous asterisks in Allow or Disallow directives. This causes exponential backtracking during URL wildcard matching, leading to a Regular Expression Denial of Service (ReDoS) condition. This Moderate denial of service flaw in Protego, a robots.txt parser, does not affect Red Hat products as the vulnerable component is only shipped in Fedora. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 6.5 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H). Weakness: CWE-1333.
Medium [CVE-2026-82343] Gimp: heap out-of-bounds read and stack out-of-bounds access in psd loader from channel-count handling
A flaw was found in the file-psd plugin in GIMP. This incorrect validation leads to improper memory bounds checking, resulting in both a heap out-of-bounds read and a stack out-of-bounds access. This issue can result in an application crash, leading to a denial of service or a limited information disclosure of memory contents. To exploit this vulnerability, an attacker needs to convince a user to process a specially crafted PSD image with GIMP, reducing the likelihood of exploitation. Due to this reason, this flaw has been rated with a moderate severity. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 6.1 (CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:H). Weakness: CWE-120. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9. Will not fix / out of support: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6. Red Hat does not currently list a fixing RHSA for this CVE. Affected products named by the advisory: Red Hat package: gimp.
Medium [CVE-2026-56854] Authentication bypass due to unenforced source-address restrictions
The source-address critical option in the Permissions returned by an authentication callback was only enforced for the PublicKeyCallback and VerifiedPublicKeyCallback paths, extending the fix for CVE-2026-46595. Permissions returned by the PasswordCallback, KeyboardInteractiveCallback, NoClientAuthCallback, and GSSAPIWithMICConfig. AllowLogin callbacks were not validated against the client's remote address, so a source-address restriction set by those callbacks was silently ignored. The check is now applied to the Permissions returned by any authentication callback. A flaw was found in golang.org/x/crypto/ssh. The component failed to properly enforce source-address restrictions for several authentication methods, including password and keyboard-interactive callbacks. In applications that misuse the ServerConfig. PublicKeyCallback callback to make security relevant authorization decisions, an attacker with a valid key could bypass network-based access controls to gain additional privileges. This vulnerability severity is Important due to the requirement that an attacker already have a valid private key. Red Hat severity: Important — CVSS 6.8 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N). Weakness: CWE-346.
Medium [CVE-2026-82328] Gimp: heap out-of-bounds read in ico loader via unvalidated used_clrs palette count
A flaw was found in the file-ico plugin in GIMP. This incorrect validation leads to improper memory bounds checking, resulting in a heap out-of-bounds read. This issue can result in an application crash, leading to a denial of service or a limited information disclosure of heap memory contents. To exploit this vulnerability, an attacker needs to convince a user to process a specially crafted ICO image with GIMP, reducing the likelihood of exploitation. Due to this reason, this flaw has been rated with a moderate severity. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 6.1 (CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:H). Weakness: CWE-125. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9. Will not fix / out of support: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6. Red Hat does not currently list a fixing RHSA for this CVE. Affected products named by the advisory: Red Hat package: gimp.
Medium [CVE-2026-82327] out-of-bounds write in repo_write via unvalidated directory id from vertical/paged.solv filelist data
A flaw was found in libsolv, a dependency-resolution library used by RPM-based package managers such as dnf and zypper to work with.solv repository cache files. When libsolv rewrites a.solv cache file, it reads directory-id values from the file's compressed filelist data without validating that they fall within the expected range. A corrupted or specially crafted.solv cache file (for example, one left in a torn state after an unclean system shutdown) can cause an out-of-bounds memory write when a tool such as dnf, yum, or zypper next processes it. Successful exploitation is expected to result in a crash of the affected tool (denial of service); it is not expected to allow arbitrary code execution because the out-of-bounds write always stores a fixed, non-attacker-controlled value. The vulnerable code path is the vertical/paged (lazily loaded) filelist decoder used by repo_write(), reached only when a consumer (e.g. dnf/libdnf) rewrites a.solv cache after having loaded one containing SOLVABLE_FILELIST data stored with KEY_STORAGE_VERTICAL_OFFSET. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 5.5 (CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H). Weakness: CWE-129. Affected products named by the advisory: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9; and 5 more.
Medium [CVE-2026-82324] Gimp: heap out-of-bounds reads in iff/ilbm loader from ham row size mismatch and nplanes=0
A flaw was found in the file-iff (IFF/ILBM) plugin in GIMP. This causes a row size mismatch that bypasses memory bounds checking, resulting in heap out-of-bounds reads. This issue can result in an application crash, leading to a denial of service or a limited information disclosure of heap memory contents. To exploit this vulnerability, an attacker needs to convince a user to process a specially crafted IFF/ILBM image with GIMP, reducing the likelihood of exploitation. Due to this reason, this flaw has been rated with a moderate severity. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 6.1 (CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:H). Weakness: CWE-125. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9. Red Hat does not currently list a fixing RHSA for this CVE. Affected products named by the advisory: Red Hat package: gimp.
Medium [CVE-2026-15603] Log Forging via unescaped Unicode line separators
morgan is an HTTP request logger middleware for Node.js. In versions prior to 1.12.0, the internal helper that escapes log token values did not neutralize the Unicode line separator characters U+0085 (Next Line), U+2028 (Line Separator), and U+2029 (Paragraph Separator). An unauthenticated remote client can place these characters in an attacker-controlled log token, for example a Basic auth username surfaced through the remote-user token, so that Unicode-aware downstream log processing splits a single request log into multiple logical records. This is a log forging issue (CWE-117) and an incomplete-fix follow-up to CVE-2026-5078, which only addressed ASCII control characters. The issue is fixed in morgan 1.12.0, which extends the escaping set to cover these Unicode line separators. Upgrade to morgan 1.12.0 to remediate. This manipulation can cause downstream log processing systems to misinterpret a single log entry as multiple records, leading to log forging. Log forging allows an attacker to inject false entries into log files, potentially obscuring malicious activities or hindering incident response. Log forging flaw in `morgan` allows unauthenticated remote attackers to inject Unicode line separators into log tokens. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 5.3 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N). Weakness: CWE-117.
Medium [CVE-2026-73209] Denial of Service via crafted compressed data
An attacker that has valid credentials can send crafted compressed data that causes the affected process to exhaust its stack and crash. The affected process is terminated, which can cause degradation or denial of service for IMAP. Update to non-vulnerable version. No publicly available exploits are known. A flaw was found in Dovecot. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 6.5 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H). Weakness: CWE-770. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9. Will not fix / out of support: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6. Red Hat does not currently list a fixing RHSA for this CVE. Affected products named by the advisory: Red Hat package: dovecot.
Medium [CVE-2026-52687] Denial of Service via IMAP compression memory exhaustion
An attacker that has valid credentials can select a compression algorithm for the IMAP connection whose decompression state requires a large amount of memory, and open several such connections. The memory limit of the process is reached with only a few connections, terminating the process and all connections it handles, which can cause degradation or denial of service for IMAP. Alternatively limit the number of connections handled by a single imap-login process, though this has a performance impact. Update to non-vulnerable version. No publicly available exploits are known. A flaw was found in dovecot. By opening several such connections, the attacker can exhaust the process's memory limit, leading to the termination of the process and all its connections. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 6.5 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H). Weakness: CWE-770. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9. Will not fix / out of support: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6. Red Hat does not currently list a fixing RHSA for this CVE. Affected products named by the advisory: Red Hat package: dovecot.
Medium [CVE-2026-42395] Denial of Service via NUL byte in forwarding information
A host listed as a trusted proxy can send forwarding information containing a NUL byte, which crashes the login process on the following login attempt. The login process is terminated, which can cause degradation or denial of service for logins. Deployments that do not configure trusted proxies are not affected. Restrict the list of trusted proxy networks to hosts that are fully under your control. Update to non-vulnerable version. No publicly available exploits are known. A flaw was found in Dovecot. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 6.5 (CVSS:3.1/AV:A/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H). Weakness: CWE-170. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9. Will not fix / out of support: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6. Red Hat does not currently list a fixing RHSA for this CVE. Affected products named by the advisory: Red Hat package: dovecot.
Medium [CVE-2026-42392] Information disclosure via invalid IMAP URLFETCH command
An attacker that has valid credentials can send an invalid IMAP URLFETCH command, which causes uninitialized memory to be included in the error response returned to the client. Process memory contents can be disclosed to the client, which may include sensitive data. Disable the IMAP URLAUTH functionality. Update to non-vulnerable version. No publicly available exploits are known. A flaw was found in Dovecot. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 4.3 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N). Weakness: CWE-908. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9. Will not fix / out of support: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6. Red Hat does not currently list a fixing RHSA for this CVE. Affected products named by the advisory: Red Hat package: dovecot.
Medium [CVE-2026-42008] Authentication bypass via trusted proxy forwarding
Forwarding information received from a host listed as a trusted proxy is not kept separate from Dovecot's own authentication fields, so a value sent by that host can be injected as an internal authentication field. Any host permitted to act as a trusted proxy can authenticate as any user without knowing that user's password. This affects deployments whose password database honours a field that permits authentication without a password. Deployments that do not configure trusted proxies are not affected. Restrict the list of trusted proxy networks to hosts that are fully under your control. Update to non-vulnerable version. No publicly available exploits are known. A flaw was found in Dovecot. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 4.3 (CVSS:3.1/AV:A/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N). Weakness: CWE-349. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9. Will not fix / out of support: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6. Red Hat does not currently list a fixing RHSA for this CVE. Affected products named by the advisory: Red Hat package: dovecot.
Medium [CVE-2026-40205] Authorization bypass via partially valid OAuth2 token
An attacker that holds an OAuth2 token granting only part of the required scopes can authenticate, because when more than one scope is required in the configuration, the remote token validation paths accept a token that carries only one of them, while the local token validation path correctly requires all of them. The configured authorization policy is not enforced, so a token that was granted only part of the required permissions is accepted where it should have been rejected. Use local token validation where tokens can be validated locally. Update to non-vulnerable version. No publicly available exploits are known. A flaw was found in Dovecot. This allows the attacker to authenticate with insufficient permissions, leading to a breach of integrity where the configured authorization policy is not properly enforced. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 5.9 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:H/A:N). Weakness: CWE-303. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9. Will not fix / out of support: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6. Red Hat does not currently list a fixing RHSA for this CVE. Affected products named by the advisory: Red Hat package: dovecot.
Medium [CVE-2026-40017] Denial of Service via crafted IMAP message headers
An attacker that can send mail to a user can craft a message header whose values are chosen to collide in an internal hash table, which makes the IMAP THREAD command consume CPU disproportionate to the size of the message. This is a separate issue from CVE-2026-40014 and is not addressed by that fix. Whenever a mail client issues a THREAD command on the affected mailbox, this can cause degradation or denial of service for IMAP. Monitor system for abnormal CPU usage, kill the offending process and remove the offending message from the affected mailbox. Update to non-vulnerable version. No publicly available exploits are known. A flaw was found in Dovecot. This manipulation forces the IMAP THREAD command to consume excessive CPU resources, leading to degradation or a complete denial of service for the IMAP server. This can disrupt email services for affected users. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 6.5 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H). Weakness: CWE-770. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9. Will not fix / out of support: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6. Red Hat does not currently list a fixing RHSA for this CVE. Affected products named by the advisory: Red Hat package: dovecot.
Medium [CVE-2026-40015] Denial of Service via malformed IMAP commands in imap-hibernate service
An attacker that has valid credentials can open many connections to the imap-hibernate service and send invalid commands, which can intermittently cause an out-of-bounds read and crash the process. The crash interrupts hibernated IMAP sessions handled by the affected process, which can cause degradation of service for IMAP. Disable IMAP hibernation. Update to non-vulnerable version. No publicly available exploits are known. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 4.3 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:L). Weakness: CWE-125. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9. Will not fix / out of support: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6. Red Hat does not currently list a fixing RHSA for this CVE. Affected products named by the advisory: Red Hat package: dovecot.
