High [CVE-2026-64048] reject CHID-0 ACCEPT that matches an empty ism_dev slot
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/smc: reject CHID-0 ACCEPT that matches an empty ism_dev slot On the SMC-D client, slot 0 of ini->ism_dev[]/ini->ism_chid[] is reserved for an SMC-Dv1 device. smc_find_ism_v2_device_clnt() populates V2 entries starting at index 1, so when no V1 device is selected slot 0 is left in its kzalloc()'ed state with ism_dev[0] == NULL and ism_chid[0] == 0. smc_v2_determine_accepted_chid() then matches the peer's CHID against the array starting from index 0 using the CHID alone. A malicious peer replying to a SMC-Dv2-only proposal with d1.chid == 0 matches the empty slot, ini->ism_selected becomes 0, and the subsequent ism_dev[0]->lgr_lock dereference in smc_conn_create() faults at offsetof(struct smcd_dev, lgr_lock) == 0x68: BUG: KASAN: null-ptr-deref in _raw_spin_lock_bh+0x79/0xe0 Write of size 4 at addr 0000000000000068 by task exploit/144 Call Trace: _raw_spin_lock_bh smc_conn_create (net/smc/smc_core.c:1997) __smc_connect (net/smc/af_smc.c:1447) smc_connect (net/smc/af_smc.c:1720) __sys_connect __x64_sys_connect do_syscall_64 Require ism_dev[i] to be non-NULL before accepting a CHID match. A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Server-Message-Block Direct (SMC-D) client. A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted SMC-Dv2 proposal with a Channel Identifier (CHID) of 0.
High [CVE-2026-64115] fix UAF when peer resets connection during handshake
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vsock/vmci: fix UAF when peer resets connection during handshake vmci_transport_recv_connecting_server() returned err = 0 for a peer RST in its default switch arm: err = pkt->type == VMCI_TRANSPORT_PACKET_TYPE_RST? 0: -EINVAL; That made vmci_transport_recv_listen() skip vsock_remove_pending(), leaving the pending socket on the listener's pending_links with sk_state = TCP_CLOSE while destroy: still dropped the explicit reference taken before schedule_delayed_work(). One second later vsock_pending_work() observed is_pending=true and performed full cleanup: vsock_remove_pending() then the two trailing sock_put(sk) calls -- the first reached refcount 0 and __sk_freed the socket, and the second wrote into the freed object: BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in refcount_warn_saturate Write of size 4 at addr ffff88800b1cac80 by task kworker Workqueue: events vsock_pending_work Treat peer RST like any other unexpected packet type (err = -EINVAL). All destroy: arms now return err 0/100 patched. A remote attacker could exploit a Use-After-Free (UAF) vulnerability when a peer resets a connection during the handshake process. This occurs because the system incorrectly handles…
High [CVE-2026-64175] stop TX during firmware restart
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: iwlwifi: mld: stop TX during firmware restart When iwlwifi firmware crashes (e.g., NMI_INTERRUPT_UNKNOWN on Intel BE201/Wi-Fi 7), iwl_mld_nic_error() sets mld->fw_status.in_hw_restart to true. However, iwl_mld_tx_from_txq() does not check this flag before dequeuing frames from mac80211 and pushing them to the transport layer. Since the firmware is dead, iwl_trans_tx() returns -EIO for each frame, which then gets freed immediately. Under high-throughput conditions (e.g., Tailscale UDP traffic or active SSH sessions), this creates a tight dequeue-send-fail-free loop that wastes CPU cycles and generates rapid skb allocation churn, leading to memory pressure from slab fragmentation. The RX path already has this guard (iwl_mld_rx_mpdu checks in_hw_restart at rx.c:1906), and so does the TXQ allocation worker (iwl_mld_add_txqs_wk at tx.c:156). Add the same guard to iwl_mld_tx_from_txq() to stop all TX during firmware restart. Frames left in mac80211's TXQs are naturally drained after restart completes, when queue reallocation triggers iwl_mld_tx_from_txq() via iwl_mld_add_txq_list(), or when new upper-layer traffic invokes wake_tx_queue. Tested on ASUS Zenbook 14 UX3405CA with Intel BE201 (Wi-Fi 7) on kernel 6.19.5 where the firmware crashes approximately every 10-15 minutes under Tailscale traffic.
High [CVE-2026-64137] require net admin for CIFS SWN netlink
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: require net admin for CIFS SWN netlink CIFS_GENL_CMD_SWN_NOTIFY is the userspace witness-notify command. The intended sender is the cifs.witness helper, but the generic-netlink operation currently has no capability flag, so any local process can send RESOURCE_CHANGE or CLIENT_MOVE notifications to the in-kernel witness handler. The same family exposes CIFS_GENL_MCGRP_SWN without multicast-group capability flags. Register messages sent to that group include the witness registration id and, for NTLM-authenticated mounts, the username, domain, and password attributes copied from the CIFS session. An unprivileged local process should not be able to join that group and receive those messages. Require CAP_NET_ADMIN for incoming SWN_NOTIFY commands with GENL_ADMIN_PERM, and require CAP_NET_ADMIN over the network namespace for joining the SWN multicast group with GENL_MCAST_CAP_NET_ADMIN. The cifs.witness service runs with the privileges needed for both operations. A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Common Internet File System (CIFS) client. This vulnerability allows an unprivileged local user to send witness notifications or join a specific multicast group without proper administrative privileges.
High [CVE-2026-64119] use list_del_rcu in l2tp_session_unhash
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: l2tp: use list_del_rcu in l2tp_session_unhash An unprivileged local user can pin a host CPU indefinitely in l2tp_session_get_by_ifname() by issuing L2TP_CMD_SESSION_GET on L2TP_ATTR_IFNAME concurrently with L2TP_CMD_SESSION_CREATE and L2TP_CMD_SESSION_DELETE on the same tunnel. All three commands take GENL_UNS_ADMIN_PERM, so CAP_NET_ADMIN in the netns user namespace suffices; on any host that has l2tp_core loaded the trigger is reachable from a standard `unshare -Urn` sandbox. l2tp_session_unhash() removes a session from tunnel->session_list with list_del_init(), but that list is walked by l2tp_session_get_by_ifname() with list_for_each_entry_rcu() under rcu_read_lock_bh(). list_del_init() leaves the deleted entry's next/prev self-pointing; a reader that has loaded the entry and then advances pos->list.next reads &session->list, container_of()s back to the same session, and list_for_each_entry_rcu() never reaches the list head. The CPU stays in strcmp() inside the walker, with BH and preemption disabled, so RCU grace periods on the host stall behind it and the wedged thread cannot be killed (SIGKILL is delivered on syscall return). Affected products named by the advisory: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; Red Hat package: kernel.
High [CVE-2026-64041] fix possible buffer overflow
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ASoC: codecs: fs210x: fix possible buffer overflow In fs210x_effect_scene_info(), a string was copied like this: strscpy(DST, SRC, strlen(SRC) + 1); A buffer overflow would happen if strlen(SRC) >= sizeof(DST). Actually, strscpy() must be used this way: strscpy(DST, SRC, sizeof(DST)); strscpy(DST, SRC); // defaults to sizeof(DST) An incorrect use of the `strscpy` function in `fs210x_effect_scene_info()` can lead to a buffer overflow. This occurs when a string is copied without proper size validation, potentially allowing a local attacker to cause a denial of service or information disclosure. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 7 (CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H). Weakness: CWE-120. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10. Red Hat does not currently list a fixing RHSA for this CVE. Affected products named by the advisory: Red Hat package: kernel.
High [CVE-2026-64071] fix use-after-free in nvme_free_host_mem
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvme-pci: fix use-after-free in nvme_free_host_mem() nvme_free_host_mem() frees dev->hmb_sgt via dma_free_noncontiguous() but never clears the pointer afterward. This leads to a use-after-free if nvme_free_host_mem() is called twice in the same error path. This is reproducible on Thunderbolt-attached NVMe devices (e.g., OWC Envoy Express behind a Dell WD22TB4 dock) where the device intermittently returns I/O errors during HMB setup due to PCIe link instability. BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference, address: 0000000000000010 RIP: 0010:iommu_dma_free_noncontiguous+0x22/0x80 Call Trace: dma_free_noncontiguous+0x3b/0x130 nvme_free_host_mem+0x30/0xf0 [nvme] nvme_probe.cold+0xcc/0x275 [nvme] local_pci_probe+0x43/0xa0 pci_device_probe+0xeea/0x290 really_probe+0xf9/0x3b0 __driver_probe_device+0x8b/0x170 driver_probe_device+0x24/0xd0 __driver_attach_async_helper+0x6b/0x110 async_run_entry_fn+0x37/0x170 process_one_work+0x1ac/0x3d0 worker_thread+0x1b8/0x360 kthread+0xf7/0x130 ret_from_fork+0x2d8/0x3a0 ret_from_fork_asm+0x1a/0x30 Fix this by setting dev->hmb_sgt to NULL after freeing it, so the second call takes the multi-descriptor path which safely handles the already-cleaned-up state. A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's NVMe over PCI Express (NVMe-PCIe) driver.
High [CVE-2026-64051] Add overflow check to remap_pfn_range during mmap
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: accel/qaic: Add overflow check to remap_pfn_range during mmap The call to remap_pfn_range in qaic_gem_object_mmap is susceptible to (re)mapping beyond the VMA if the BO is too large. This can cause use after free issues when munmap() unmaps only the VMA region and not the additional mappings. To prevent this, check the remaining size of the VMA before remapping and truncate the remapped length if sg->length is too large. [jhugo: fix braces from checkpatch --strict] This vulnerability allows for memory to be mapped beyond its intended boundaries during certain memory allocation operations. A local attacker could exploit this flaw, leading to a use-after-free condition. This could potentially result in privilege escalation or a denial of service. Red Hat severity: Important — CVSS 7 (CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H). Weakness: CWE-787. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10. Red Hat fixing advisory: RHSA-2026:65334. Affected products named by the advisory: Red Hat package: kernel.
High [CVE-2026-64109] Fix UAF read of tail->len in unix_stream_data_wait
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: af_unix: Fix UAF read of tail->len in unix_stream_data_wait() unix_stream_data_wait() does skb_peek_tail(&sk->sk_receive_queue) without holding any lock that prevents SKBs on that queue from being dequeued and freed. This has been the case since commit 79f632c71bea ("unix/stream: fix peeking with an offset larger than data in queue"). The first consequence of this is that the pointer comparison `tail!= last` can be false even if `last` semantically refers to an already-freed SKB while `tail` is a new SKB allocated at the same address; which can cause unix_stream_data_wait() to wrongly keep blocking after new data has arrived, but only in a weird scenario where a peeking recv() and a normal recv() on the same socket are racing, which is probably not a real problem. Affected products named by the advisory: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8; and 2 more.
High [CVE-2026-64132] refresh hdr pointer before ioam6_event
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv6: ioam: refresh hdr pointer before ioam6_event() Reported by Sashiko: In ipv6_hop_ioam(), the hdr pointer is initialized to point into the skb's linear data buffer. Later, the code calls skb_ensure_writable(), which might reallocate the buffer: if (skb_ensure_writable(skb, optoff + 2 + hdr->opt_len)) goto drop; /* Trace pointer may have changed */ trace = (struct ioam6_trace_hdr *)(skb_network_header(skb) + optoff + sizeof(*hdr)); ioam6_fill_trace_data(skb, ns, trace, true); ioam6_event(IOAM6_EVENT_TRACE, dev_net(skb->dev), GFP_ATOMIC, (void *)trace, hdr->opt_len - 2); If the skb is cloned or lacks sufficient linear headroom, skb_ensure_writable() will invoke pskb_expand_head(), which reallocates the skb's data buffer and frees the old one, invalidating pointers to it. While the code recalculates the trace pointer immediately after the call to skb_ensure_writable(), it fails to recalculate the hdr pointer. This patch fixes the above by recalculating the hdr pointer before passing hdr->opt_len to ioam6_event(), so that we avoid any UaF. A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's IPv6 In-situ Operations, Administration, and Maintenance (IOAM) component. This vulnerability, a use-after-free, occurs when the kernel fails to correctly update a pointer after reallocating a network packet's buffer.
High [CVE-2026-53374] zero-initialize GART table on allocation
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: zero-initialize GART table on allocation GART TLB is flushed after unmapping but not after mapping. Since amdgpu_bo_create_kernel() does not zero-initialize the buffer, when a single PTE is written the TLB may speculatively load other uninitialized entries from the same cacheline. Those garbage entries can appear valid, and a subsequent write to another PTE in the same cacheline may cause the GPU to use a stale garbage PTE from the TLB. Fix this by calling memset_io() to zero-initialize the GART table with gart_pte_flags immediately after allocation. Using AMDGPU_GEM_CREATE_VRAM_CLEARED, SDMA-based clear will not work since SDMA needs GART to be initialized to work. (cherry picked from commit d9af8263b82b6eaa60c5718e0c6631c5037e4b24) A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's AMD GPU (amdgpu) driver. When allocating a Graphics Address Remapping Table (GART), the memory was not properly initialized. This could allow a local attacker to potentially access uninitialized memory, leading to information disclosure or unexpected system behavior due to the GPU using stale data from its Translation Lookaside Buffer (TLB). Red Hat severity: Important — CVSS 7 (CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H). Weakness: CWE-824.
High [CVE-2026-53381] fix UAF on submount umount
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: virtiofs: fix UAF on submount umount iput() called from fuse_release_end() can Oops if the super block has already been destroyed. Normally this is prevented by waiting for num_waiting to go down to zero before commencing with super block shutdown. This only works, however, for the last submount instance, as the wait counter is per connection, not per superblock. Revert to using synchronous release requests for the auto_submounts case, which is virtiofs only at this time. A use-after-free (UAF) vulnerability exists during submount unmount operations. This can lead to a kernel panic, resulting in a denial of service. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 7 (CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H). Weakness: CWE-825. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6. Will not fix / out of support: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6. Red Hat does not currently list a fixing RHSA for this CVE. Affected products named by the advisory: Red Hat package: kernel.
High [CVE-2026-53395] fix dead ACL conflict guard in nfsd4_create
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: fix dead ACL conflict guard in nfsd4_create nfsd4_create() steals create->cr_dpacl/cr_pacl into the local nfsd_attrs via the designated initializer, then immediately sets the source pointers to NULL. The subsequent conflict guard tests the already-nilled source fields, making it permanently dead code: if (create->cr_acl) { if (create->cr_dpacl || create->cr_pacl) /* always false */ When a client encodes both FATTR4_WORD0_ACL and FATTR4_WORD2_POSIX_{DEFAULT,ACCESS}_ACL in the same CREATE fattr bitmap, nfsd4_acl_to_attr() overwrites attrs.na_pacl/na_dpacl without releasing the originals, leaking two posix_acl slab objects per request. Repeated requests cause unbounded slab exhaustion. Fix by checking attrs.na_dpacl/na_pacl (the stolen values) instead of the nilled create->cr_dpacl/cr_pacl, matching the correct pattern already used in nfsd4_setattr(). A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Network File System (NFS) daemon (nfsd). A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending specially crafted NFS CREATE requests that include conflicting Access Control List (ACL) attributes. This leads to a memory leak, where the system fails to release memory objects, causing unbounded memory exhaustion.
High [CVE-2026-63826] fix use-after-free in store_modes
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fbdev: fix use-after-free in store_modes() store_modes() replaces a framebuffer's modelist with modes from userspace. On success it frees the old modelist with fb_destroy_modelist(). Two fields still point into that freed list. One pointer is fb_display[i].mode, the mode a console is using. fbcon_new_modelist() moves these pointers to the new list. It only does so for consoles still mapped to the framebuffer. An unmapped console is skipped and keeps its stale pointer. Unbinding fbcon, for example, sets con2fb_map[i] to -1 but leaves fb_display[i].mode set. An FBIOPUT_VSCREENINFO ioctl with FB_ACTIVATE_INV_MODE later reaches fbcon_mode_deleted(). That function reads the stale fb_display[i].mode through fb_mode_is_equal(). The other pointer is fb_info->mode, the current mode. It is set through the mode sysfs attribute. store_modes() does not update fb_info->mode, so it is left pointing into the freed list. show_mode(), the attribute's read handler, dereferences the stale fb_info->mode through mode_string(). Clear both pointers before freeing the list. Commit a1f305893074 ("fbcon: Set fb_display[i]->mode to NULL when the mode is released") added the helper fbcon_delete_modelist(). It clears every fb_display[i].mode that points into a given list. So far it is called only from the unregister path.
High [CVE-2026-63795] avoid putting oldfid in p9_client_walk error path
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: 9p: avoid putting oldfid in p9_client_walk() error path When p9_client_walk() is called with clone set to false, fid aliases oldfid. If the walk subsequently fails after the request has been sent, the error path jumps to clunk_fid, which currently calls p9_fid_put(fid) unconditionally. This drops a reference to oldfid even though ownership of oldfid remains with the caller. If this is the last reference, oldfid can be clunked and destroyed while the caller still expects it to be valid. A later use or put of oldfid can then trigger a use-after-free or refcount underflow. Fix this by only putting fid in the clunk_fid error path when it does not alias oldfid, matching the existing guard in the error path below. This can be triggered when a multi-component walk is split into multiple p9_client_walk() calls and a later non-cloning walk fails. A reproducer and refcount warning logs are available on request. A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's 9p filesystem client. A reference counting error in the `p9_client_walk()` function can lead to a use-after-free or reference count underflow. This vulnerability may allow a local attacker to cause a system crash, resulting in a Denial of Service, or potentially achieve privilege escalation.
High [CVE-2026-53384] unregister 8250 port if clk_notifier_register fails
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: serial: 8250_dw: unregister 8250 port if clk_notifier_register() fails dw8250_probe() registers the 8250 port via serial8250_register_8250_port() and then, if the device has a clock, registers a clock notifier. If clk_notifier_register() fails, probe returns the error but leaves the 8250 port registered. The matching serial8250_unregister_port() lives in dw8250_remove(), which is not called when probe fails, so the port slot stays occupied until the device is rebound or the system is rebooted. The devm-allocated driver data is freed while the port still references it (via the saved private_data and serial_in/serial_out callbacks), so any access to that port slot before a rebind is a use-after-free hazard. When the `clk_notifier_register()` function fails during the probe process, the 8250 port is not properly unregistered. This oversight can lead to a use-after-free vulnerability, where previously freed memory is still referenced. An attacker could potentially exploit this to cause system instability or execute arbitrary code. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 7 (CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H). Weakness: CWE-825. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9. Red Hat does not currently list a fixing RHSA for this CVE.
High [CVE-2026-63823] Pin request_key_auth payload in instantiate paths
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: keys: Pin request_key_auth payload in instantiate paths A: request_key() B: KEYCTL_INSTANTIATE_IOV ================ ========================= create auth key store rka in auth key wait for helper get auth key load rka from auth key copy user payload sleep on #PF helper completed detach and free rka destroy auth key wake up use rka->target_key **USE-AFTER-FREE** Give request_key_auth payloads a refcount. Take a payload reference while authkey->sem stabilizes the payload and revocation state. Hold that reference across the instantiate and reject paths. Drop the auth key owning reference from revoke and destroy. [jarkko: Replaced the first two paragraphs of text with an actual concurrency scenario.] This flaw occurs when the system attempts to use a key authorization payload after it has been released, which can lead to system instability or crashes. A local attacker could potentially exploit this to cause a denial of service or escalate their privileges. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 7 (CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H). Weakness: CWE-825. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7. Will not fix / out of support: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.
High [CVE-2026-63800] Fix use-after-free in pnfs_update_layout
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: pNFS: Fix use-after-free in pnfs_update_layout() When hitting the NFS_LAYOUT_RETURN branch in pnfs_update_layout(), the code calls pnfs_prepare_to_retry_layoutget(lo). If it succeeds, pnfs_put_layout_hdr(lo) is called before trace_pnfs_update_layout(), which still references 'lo'. This results in a use-after-free when the tracepoint accesses lo's fields. Fix this by moving the tracepoint call before pnfs_put_layout_hdr(lo). A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's parallel Network File System (pNFS) component. An issue in the `pnfs_update_layout()` function causes a use-after-free vulnerability due to incorrect ordering of memory management operations. This flaw can be triggered when the system attempts to update a pNFS layout, potentially leading to system instability, crashes, or a denial of service. In some scenarios, this type of memory corruption could be exploited by a local attacker to achieve arbitrary code execution. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 7 (CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H). Weakness: CWE-825. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6. Will not fix / out of support: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6. Affected products named by the advisory: Red Hat package: kernel-rt.
High [CVE-2026-53393] reset write verifier on deferred writeback errors
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: reset write verifier on deferred writeback errors nfsd_vfs_write() and nfsd_commit() both call filemap_check_wb_err() to detect deferred writeback errors, but neither rotates the server's write verifier (nn->writeverf) when this check fails. Every other durable-storage-failure path in these functions calls commit_reset_write_verifier() before returning an error. The missing rotation means clients holding UNSTABLE write data under the current verifier will COMMIT, receive the unchanged verifier back, and conclude their data is durable — silently dropping data that failed writeback. This violates the UNSTABLE+COMMIT durability contract (RFC 1813 §3.3.7, RFC 8881 §18.32). Add commit_reset_write_verifier() calls at both filemap_check_wb_err() error sites, matching the pattern used by adjacent error paths in the same functions. The helper already filters -EAGAIN and -ESTALE internally, so the calls are unconditionally safe. A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Network File System (NFS) daemon. This vulnerability occurs when the NFS daemon fails to reset the write verifier during deferred writeback errors for UNSTABLE writes. A remote attacker, acting as an NFS client, could exploit this by performing operations that trigger these errors.
High [CVE-2026-53398] Fix SECINFO_NO_NAME decode error cleanup
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: NFSD: Fix SECINFO_NO_NAME decode error cleanup nfsd4_decode_secinfo_no_name() currently initializes sin_exp after decoding sin_style. If the XDR stream is truncated, the decoder returns nfserr_bad_xdr before sin_exp is initialized. Since commit 3fdc54646234 ("NFSD: Reduce amount of struct nfsd4_compoundargs that needs clearing"), the inline iops array is not cleared between RPC calls. A failed SECINFO_NO_NAME decode can therefore leave sin_exp holding stale union contents from a previous operation. The error response path still invokes nfsd4_secinfo_no_name_release(), which calls exp_put() on a non-NULL sin_exp. Initialize sin_exp before the first failable decode step, matching nfsd4_decode_secinfo(). A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Network File System Daemon (NFSD). The nfsd4_decode_secinfo_no_name() function does not properly initialize a pointer (sin_exp) before processing an incoming data stream. If the data stream is malformed or truncated, the uninitialized pointer can retain stale data from previous operations. This can lead to an improper cleanup operation, potentially causing system instability or a denial of service. Red Hat severity: Important — CVSS 7 (CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H). Weakness: CWE-824.
