High [CVE-2025-11393] Insights-runtimes-tech-preview/runtimes-inventory-rhel8-operator: improper proxy configuration allows unauthorized administrative commands

A flaw was found in runtimes-inventory-rhel8-operator. An internal proxy component is incorrectly configured. Because of this flaw, the proxy attaches the cluster's main administrative credentials to any command it receives, instead of only the specific reports it is supposed to handle. This allows a standard user within the cluster to send unauthorized commands to the management platform, effectively acting with the full permissions of the cluster administrator. This could lead to unauthorized changes to the cluster's configuration or status on the Red Hat platform. Red Hat severity: Important — CVSS 8.7 (CVSS:3.1/AV:A/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:N). Weakness: CWE-441. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat Lightspeed (formerly Insights) for Runtimes 1.0; Red Hat Runtimes Inventory Operator. Will not fix / out of support: Red Hat Runtimes Inventory Operator. Red Hat fixing advisory: RHSA-2025:23236.

High [CVE-2024-3884] outofmemory when parsing form data encoding with application/x-www-form-urlencoded

A flaw was found in Undertow that can cause remote denial of service attacks. When the server uses the FormEncodedDataDefinition.doParse(StreamSourceChannel) method to parse large form data encoding with application/x-www-form-urlencoded, the method will cause an OutOfMemory issue. This flaw allows unauthorized users to cause a remote denial of service (DoS) attack. Red Hat rates this as a Moderate impact since this requires the use of a specific form method by the server that must be externally available and the input is not sanitized by the given servlet or class implementing its use. Weakness: CWE-20. Affected products named by the advisory: Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 7.1 EUS for RHEL 7; Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 7.3 EUS for RHEL 7; Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 7.4.24; Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 7.4 ELS on RHEL 7; and 11 more.

High [CVE-2025-13601] Glib: integer overflow in in g_escape_uri_string

A heap-based buffer overflow problem was found in glib through an incorrect calculation of buffer size in the g_escape_uri_string() function. If the string to escape contains a very large number of unacceptable characters (which would need escaping), the calculation of the length of the escaped string could overflow, leading to a potential write off the end of the newly allocated string. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 7.7 (CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:H). Weakness: CWE-190. High [CVE-2025-61662] Grub2: missing unregister call for gettext command may lead to use-after-free

A Use-After-Free vulnerability has been discovered in GRUB's gettext module. This flaw stems from a programming error where the gettext command remains registered in memory after its module is unloaded. An attacker can exploit this condition by invoking the orphaned command, causing the application to access a memory location that is no longer valid. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause grub to crash, leading to a Denial of Service. Possible data integrity or confidentiality compromise is not discarded. This vulnerability has been rated as have the impact of Moderate by the Red Hat Product Security team. This decision was made based in the fact an attacker needs local or physical access to the machine, to execute the gettext command after it was unloaded. Additionally the most likely outcome from an successful attack is a Denial of Crash by leading the grub2 to crash. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 7.8 (CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H). Affected products named by the advisory: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10.0 Extended Update Support; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 Extended Lifecycle Support; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.2 Advanced Update Support; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.4 Advanced Mission Critical Update Support; and 19 more.

High [CVE-2025-11561] Sssd: sssd default kerberos configuration allows privilege escalation on ad-joined linux systems

A flaw was found in the integration of Active Directory and the System Security Services Daemon (SSSD) on Linux systems. In default configurations, the Kerberos local authentication plugin (sssd_krb5_localauth_plugin) is enabled, but a fallback to the an2ln plugin is possible. This fallback allows an attacker with permission to modify certain AD attributes (such as userPrincipalName or samAccountName) to impersonate privileged users, potentially resulting in unauthorized access or privilege escalation on domain-joined Linux hosts. The Red Hat Product Security team has assessed this issue as High severity for domain-joined Linux systems using default SSSD configurations. This could lead to unauthorized access or elevated privileges on affected Linux hosts. Administrators are advised to review and apply recommended hardening configurations to mitigate this behavior. Red Hat severity: Important — CVSS 8.8 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H). Weakness: CWE-269. Affected products named by the advisory: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 Extended Lifecycle Support; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.2 Advanced Update Support; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.4 Advanced Mission Critical Update Support; and 23 more.

High [CVE-2025-11234] Qemu-kvm: vnc websocket handshake use-after-free

A flaw was found in QEMU. If the QIOChannelWebsock object is freed while it is waiting to complete a handshake, a GSource is leaked. This can lead to the callback firing later on and triggering a use-after-free in the use of the channel. This can be abused by a malicious client with network access to the VNC WebSocket port to cause a denial of service during the WebSocket handshake prior to the VNC client authentication. This CVE has been rated as Moderate because it only affects the WebSocket protocol for communication (the VNC raw TCP socket is not affected) and the use of QEMU's in-process WebSocket feature is fairly niche. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 7.5 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H). Weakness: CWE-416. Affected products named by the advisory: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.4 Advanced Mission Critical Update Support; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.4 Extended Update Support Long-Life Add-On; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.8 Telecommunications Update Service; and 10 more.

High [CVE-2025-4953] Podman: build context bind mount

A flaw was found in Podman. In a Containerfile or Podman, data written to RUN --mount=type=bind mounts during the podman build is not discarded. This issue can lead to files created within the container appearing in the temporary build context directory on the host, leaving the created files accessible. This issue is classified as Moderate rather than Important because exploitation requires several preconditions: an attacker must have unprivileged access to the host during the build process, the container build must include long-running steps (e.g., RUN sleep) that prolong the existence of the temporary build context, and files must be created with overly permissive permissions (e.g., 4777). The vulnerability does not allow remote code execution or compromise of running containers, and it only exposes files temporarily present in the build context. Therefore, while it can lead to information disclosure, the scope and impact are limited to local users with concurrent access, making the overall risk moderate. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 7.4 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N). Weakness: CWE-378. Affected products named by the advisory: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8; Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4.12; Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4.13; Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4.14; and 4 more.

High [CVE-2025-9566] Podman: podman kube play command may overwrite host files

There's a vulnerability in podman where an attacker may use the kube play command to overwrite host files when the kube file container a Secrete or a ConfigMap volume mount and such volume contains a symbolic link to a host file path. In a successful attack, the attacker can only control the target file to be overwritten but not the content to be written into the file. Binary-Affected: podman Upstream-version-introduced: v4.0.0 Upstream-version-fixed: v5.6.1 The Red Hat Product Security team has evaluated this vulnerability as having the Important severity. This happens because of the consequences of an successful attack and the low complexity (AC:L) on exploiting this vulnerability. Although the attacker cannot control the content written to the target file, depending on which file was targeted, the exploitation of this flaw may lead sensitive data corruption (I:H) and leading the system to crash resulting in a Denial of Service attack (A:H). Weakness: CWE-22. Affected products named by the advisory: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.6 Advanced Mission Critical Update Support; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.6 Telecommunications Update Service; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.6 Update Services for SAP Solutions; and 17 more.
