Medium [CVE-2025-14777] keycloak idor in realm client creating/deleting
A flaw was found in Keycloak. An IDOR (Broken Access Control) vulnerability exists in the admin API endpoints for authorization resource management, specifically in ResourceSetService and PermissionTicketService. The system checks authorization against the resourceServer (client) ID provided in the API request, but the backend database lookup and modification operations (findById, delete) only use the resourceId. This mismatch allows an authenticated attacker with fine-grained admin permissions for one client (e.g., Client A) to delete or update resources belonging to another client (Client B) within the same realm by supplying a valid resource ID. Affected product named by the advisory: Red Hat build of Keycloak 26.4.

Medium [CVE-2025-61661] Grub2: grub2: out-of-bounds write via malicious usb device
A vulnerability has been identified in the GRUB (Grand Unified Bootloader) component. This flaw occurs because the bootloader mishandles string conversion when reading information from a USB device, allowing an attacker to exploit inconsistent length values. A local attacker can connect a maliciously configured USB device during the boot sequence to trigger this issue. A successful exploitation may lead GRUB to crash, leading to a Denial of Service. Data corruption may be also possible, although given the complexity of the exploit the impact is most likely limited. This vulnerability was rated as having the impact of Moderate by the Red Hat Product Security Engineering team. To exploit this flaw the attacker needs to have physical access to the machine and connect a maliciously crafted USB device which will leverage the lack of string size validation to cause a out-of-bounds write when reading strings from it. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 4.8 (CVSS:3.1/AV:P/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:H). Weakness: CWE-131. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause grub to crash, leading to a Denial of Service. Possible data integrity or confidentiality compromise is not discarded. This vulnerability has been rated as having a Moderate severity by the Red Hat Product Security Team. This classification is due to the needs of an attacker to have local access to the machine. Weakness: CWE-825. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9; Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4. Red Hat does not currently list a fixing RHSA for this CVE. Affected products named by the advisory: Red Hat package: grub2.
Medium [CVE-2025-12464] Qemu-kvm: stack buffer overflow in e1000 device via short frames in loopback mode
A stack-based buffer overflow was found in the QEMU e1000 network device. The code for padding short frames was dropped from individual network devices and moved to the net core code. The issue stems from the device's receive code still being able to process a short frame in loopback mode. This could lead to a buffer overrun in the e1000_receive_iov() function via the loopback code path. A malicious guest user could use this vulnerability to crash the QEMU process on the host, resulting in a denial of service. This CVE is rated as Moderate because the vulnerability is confined to the loopback interface. Furthermore, even though e1000 is common for legacy Operating Systems, the device is generally discouraged in modern virtualization deployments (where virtio-net is recommended). Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 6.2 (CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H). Weakness: CWE-121. Medium [CVE-2025-57848] privilege escalation via excessive /etc/passwd permissions
A container privilege escalation flaw was found in certain Container-native Virtualization images. This issue stems from the /etc/passwd file being created with group-writable permissions during build time. In certain conditions, an attacker who can execute commands within an affected container, even as a non-root user, can leverage their membership in the root group to modify the /etc/passwd file. This could allow the attacker to add a new user with any arbitrary UID, including UID 0, leading to full root privileges within the container. Affected products named by the advisory: RHEL-8-CNV-4.12; RHEL-9-CNV-4.14; RHEL-9-CNV-4.17; RHEL-9-CNV-4.18; and 2 more. Affected products named by the advisory: RHEL-9-CNV-4.19; Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization 4.
Medium [CVE-2025-11568] Luksmeta: data corruption when handling luks1 partitions with luksmeta
A data corruption vulnerability has been identified in the luksmeta utility when used with the LUKS1 disk encryption format. An attacker with the necessary permissions can exploit this flaw by writing a large amount of metadata to an encrypted device. The utility fails to correctly validate the available space, causing the metadata to overwrite and corrupt the user's encrypted data. This action leads to a permanent loss of the stored information. Devices using the LUKS formats other than LUKS1 are not affected by this issue. This vulnerability has been rated as having the impact of 'Moderate' by the Red Hat Product Security team. This happens because for an successful attack to take place, the attacker needs to have root privileges to me able to run luksmeta. It worth to notice this vulnerability only affects luksmeta when it's being used over a encrypted partition with LUKS1 versio, further LUKS versions are not vulnerable to this. While LUKS1 is not the default LUKS version in Red Hat Enterprise Linux since Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8, LUKS1 is still supported. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 4.4 (CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:N). Weakness: CWE-1284. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7; Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4.
Medium [CVE-2025-9640] Samba: vfs_streams_xattr uninitialized memory write possible
A flaw was found in Samba, in the vfs_streams_xattr module, where uninitialized heap memory could be written into alternate data streams. This allows an authenticated user to read residual memory content that may include sensitive data, resulting in an information disclosure vulnerability. This vulnerability is rated Low because its exploitation scope and potential impact are tightly constrained. Technically, the flaw only allows disclosure of uninitialized heap memory fragments, not direct control or corruption of memory. The attacker must already be an authenticated user with write access to files using the vfs_streams_xattr module, significantly reducing the attack surface. The exposed data is non-deterministic and contextually limited—it consists of residual memory content that may or may not contain meaningful information, with no guarantee of retrieving sensitive secrets. Additionally, Samba already clears known secret buffers before freeing memory, further lowering the risk of credential or key exposure. Red Hat severity: Low — CVSS 4.3 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N). Weakness: CWE-908. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9; Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4. Red Hat does not currently list a fixing RHSA for this CVE.
