Medium [CVE-2025-2842] tempo operator token exposition lead to read sensitive data

A flaw was found in the Tempo Operator. This can be exploited if a user has 'create' permissions on TempoStack and 'get' permissions on Secret in a namespace (for example, a user has ClusterAdmin permissions for a specific namespace), as the user can read the token of the Tempo service account and therefore has access to see all cluster metrics. Red Hat has evaluated this vulnerability and rated with a Moderate impact as the attacker is limited to read access and requires previous permissions to read the token and get access to the cluster metrics. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 4.3 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N). Weakness: CWE-200. Medium [CVE-2025-2786] serviceaccount token exposure leading to token and subject access reviews in openshift tempo operator

A flaw was found in Tempo Operator, where it creates a ServiceAccount, ClusterRole, and ClusterRoleBinding when a user deploys a TempoStack or TempoMonolithic instance. This flaw allows a user with full access to their namespace to extract the ServiceAccount token and use it to submit TokenReview and SubjectAccessReview requests, potentially revealing information about other users' permissions. While this does not allow privilege escalation or impersonation, it exposes information that could aid in gathering information for further attacks. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat OpenShift distributed tracing 3.5.3; Red Hat OpenShift distributed tracing 3. Red Hat fixing advisory: RHSA-2025:3607, RHSA-2025:3740.

Medium [CVE-2024-7631] Openshift-console: openshift console: path traversal

A flaw was found in the OpenShift Console, an endpoint for plugins to serve resources in multiple languages: /locales/resources.json. This endpoint's lng and ns parameters are used to construct a filepath in pkg/plugins/handlers unsafely.go#L112 Because of this unsafe filepath construction, an authenticated user can manipulate the path to retrieve any JSON files on the console's pod by using sequences of../ and valid directory paths. Due to the affected endpoint's logic, only files with the.json extension can be accessed, greatly limiting the impact of this vulnerability. No JSON files with a potential security impact could be identified on the console's pod. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 4.3 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N). Weakness: CWE-22. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 3.11; Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4. Red Hat does not currently list a fixing RHSA for this CVE.

Medium [CVE-2025-26466] Openssh: denial-of-service in openssh

A flaw was found in the OpenSSH package. For each ping packet the SSH server receives, a pong packet is allocated in a memory buffer and stored in a queue of packages. It is only freed when the server/client key exchange has finished. A malicious client may keep sending such packages, leading to an uncontrolled increase in memory consumption on the server side. Consequently, the server may become unavailable, resulting in a denial of service attack. The versions of OpenSSH as shipped with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 and older are not affected by this vulnerability. Also this issue marked as a moderate severity vulnerability rather than important because, while it enables a pre-authentication denial-of-service (DoS) attack, it does not allow remote code execution, privilege escalation, or data exfiltration. The attack is asymmetric in resource consumption, meaning an attacker can force excessive CPU and memory usage, but it still requires repeated connection attempts to sustain the impact. Moreover, OpenSSH provides built-in mitigation mechanisms, such as LoginGraceTime, MaxStartups, and PerSourcePenalties, which can significantly limit the attack’s effectiveness if properly configured. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 5.9 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H). Weakness: CWE-770.

Medium [CVE-2024-45775] missing check for failed allocation

A flaw was found in grub2 where the grub_extcmd_dispatcher() function calls grub_arg_list_alloc() to allocate memory for the grub's argument list. However, it fails to check in case the memory allocation fails. Once the allocation fails, a NULL point will be processed by the parse_option() function, leading grub to crash or, in some rare scenarios, corrupt the IVT data. Red Hat has classified this vulnerability with a Moderate severity due to the high privileges needed to exploit this flaw. Additionally, the attack vector is considered local, further limiting exploitation of this issue. Weakness: CWE-252. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8; Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4. Red Hat lists Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 as not affected. Red Hat fixing advisory: RHSA-2025:6990. Affected products named by the advisory: Red Hat package: grub2.

Medium [CVE-2025-26465] machine-in-the-middle attack if verifyhostkeydns is enabled

A vulnerability was found in OpenSSH when the VerifyHostKeyDNS option is enabled. A machine-in-the-middle attack can be performed by a malicious machine impersonating a legit server. This issue occurs due to how OpenSSH mishandles error codes in specific conditions when verifying the host key. For an attack to be considered successful, the attacker needs to manage to exhaust the client's memory resource first, turning the attack complexity high. This issue is rated as a moderate severity vulnerability instead of important because it requires specific conditions to be exploitable. Second, the attacker must be able to exhaust SSH client memory and trigger out-of-memory condition. Additionally, while the attack allows a machine-in-the-middle (MITM) adversary to trick the client into accepting an incorrect host key, it does not directly lead to code execution or immediate system compromise. Instead, the attack requires additional steps, such as credential interception or session hijacking to fully exploit the breach. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 6.8 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N). Weakness: CWE-390. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.4 Extended Update Support; Red Hat Discovery 1.14; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7; Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4.

Medium [CVE-2024-12086] Rsync: rsync server leaks arbitrary client files

A flaw was found in rsync. It could allow a server to enumerate the contents of an arbitrary file from the client's machine. This issue occurs when files are being copied from a client to a server. During this process, the rsync server will send checksums of local data to the client to compare with in order to determine what data needs to be sent to the server. By sending specially constructed checksum values for arbitrary files, an attacker may be able to reconstruct the data of those files byte-by-byte based on the responses from the client. This vulnerability marked as moderate rather than important because it requires the attacker to control the rsync server, which limits the scope of exploitation to scenarios where the client interacts with untrusted or compromised servers. Additionally, the attack is non-trivial, as it relies on the attacker sending specially crafted checksum values and deducing file contents byte-by-byte based on the client’s responses. This makes the exploit more complex and time-consuming compared to direct file access vulnerabilities. Furthermore, the impact is limited to file data enumeration, and it does not allow arbitrary code execution or privilege escalation on the client. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 6.1 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:N/A:N). Weakness: CWE-390.
