High [CVE-2026-64456] clamp device-reported used.len at copy_data

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: hwrng: virtio: clamp device-reported used.len at copy_data() random_recv_done() stores the device-reported used.len directly into vi->data_avail. copy_data() then indexes vi->data[] using vi->data_idx (advanced by previous copy_data() calls) and issues a memcpy() without re-validating either value against the posted buffer size sizeof(vi->data) (SMP_CACHE_BYTES bytes, typically 32 or 64). A malicious or buggy virtio-rng backend can set used.len beyond sizeof(vi->data), steering the memcpy() past the end of the inline array into adjacent kmalloc-1k slab bytes. hwrng_fillfn() mixes those bytes into the guest RNG, and guest root can also observe them directly via /dev/hwrng. Concrete impact is inside the guest: - Memory-safety / hardening: any virtio-rng backend that over-reports used.len causes the driver to read past vi->data into unrelated slab contents. hwrng_fillfn() is a kernel thread that runs as soon as the device is probed; no guest userspace interaction is required to first-trigger the OOB. - Cross-boundary leak (confidential-compute threat model): a malicious hypervisor cooperating with a malicious or compromised guest root userspace can use /dev/hwrng as a leak channel for guest-kernel heap data.

High [CVE-2026-64342] fix use-after-free on disconnect

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: USB: iowarrior: fix use-after-free on disconnect Submitted write URBs are not stopped on close() and therefore need to be stopped unconditionally on disconnect() to avoid use-after-free in the completion handler. This vulnerability, a use-after-free, occurs because write operations are not properly halted when a device disconnects. An attacker could potentially exploit this to cause system instability or execute arbitrary code. Red Hat rates this flaw as Moderate impact because exploitation requires local system access alongside the attachment or emulation of specialized IO-Warrior USB hardware. An unprivileged local user could potentially trigger race conditions during device detachment while write requests are pending, leading to kernel memory corruption or a system crash. Furthermore, the affected driver is not loaded by default in standard Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments unless corresponding hardware is detected. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 7 (CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H). Weakness: CWE-825. Will not fix / out of support: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6. Red Hat does not currently list a fixing RHSA for this CVE. Affected products named by the advisory: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9; and 1 more.

High [CVE-2026-64377] Fix possible double free

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cpufreq: qcom-cpufreq-hw: Fix possible double free qcom_cpufreq.data is allocated with devm_kzalloc() in probe() as an array of per-domain data. qcom_cpufreq_hw_cpu_init() stores a pointer to one element of this array in policy->driver_data. qcom_cpufreq_hw_cpu_exit() currently calls kfree() on policy->driver_data. This is not valid because the memory is devm-managed. For the first domain, this can free the devm-managed allocation while the devres entry is still active, leading to a possible double free when the platform device is later detached. For other domains, the pointer may refer to an element inside the array rather than the allocation base. Remove the kfree(data) call and let devres release qcom_cpufreq.data. This issue was found by a static analysis tool I am developing. This vulnerability, a double free, occurs due to incorrect memory handling when a device is detached. Specifically, the system attempts to release memory that is already managed, leading to a potential double free. This can result in system instability, memory corruption, or a denial of service (DoS), making the system unavailable to legitimate users. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 7 (CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H). Weakness: CWE-763. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10.

High [CVE-2026-64393] run set info with opener credentials

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: run set info with opener credentials SMB2 SET_INFO handlers call path-based VFS helpers after checking the access mask granted to the SMB handle. Those helpers perform their owner, inode permission and LSM checks using the current ksmbd worker credentials. Run the complete SET_INFO dispatch with the credentials captured when the handle was opened. This also removes the separate security information credential setup and keeps all SET_INFO classes under one credential scope. Direct override_creds() is used because it can nest with the request credential overrides already used by rename and link helpers. This vulnerability allows a local attacker to escalate privileges by manipulating Server Message Block (SMB2) SET_INFO operations. The system incorrectly uses the ksmbd worker's credentials instead of the original user's credentials when performing file system checks, potentially bypassing security restrictions and enabling unauthorized actions. Red Hat severity: Important. Weakness: CWE-270. Red Hat lists Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 as not affected.

High [CVE-2026-64398] add a permission check for FSCTL_SET_ZERO_DATA

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: add a permission check for FSCTL_SET_ZERO_DATA FSCTL_SET_ZERO_DATA in smb2_ioctl() destroys file data via ksmbd_vfs_zero_data() -> vfs_fallocate(PUNCH_HOLE/ZERO_RANGE) after checking only the share-level KSMBD_TREE_CONN_FLAG_WRITABLE, with no per-handle access check. A handle opened with only FILE_WRITE_ATTRIBUTES still yields an FMODE_WRITE filp (FILE_WRITE_ATTRIBUTES is part of FILE_WRITE_DESIRE_ACCESS_LE, so smb2_create_open_flags() opens it O_WRONLY), so the vfs_fallocate FMODE_WRITE check does not stop it; only the missing fp->daccess gate would. Reproduced on mainline 7.1-rc7 with KASAN by an authenticated SMB client: a FILE_WRITE_ATTRIBUTES-only handle zeroed 4096 bytes of file data it had no FILE_WRITE_DATA right to (6/6; a FILE_READ_DATA-only handle was correctly denied). This is the unfixed sibling of commit cc57232cae23 ("ksmbd: fix FSCTL permission bypass by adding a permission check for FSCTL_SET_SPARSE"). Because SET_ZERO_DATA writes data (not an attribute), require FILE_WRITE_DATA. An authenticated Server Message Block (SMB) client with only FILE_WRITE_ATTRIBUTES permission can bypass a security check in the FSCTL_SET_ZERO_DATA function. This allows the client to zero out file data, leading to data destruction and a denial of service. Red Hat severity: Important. Weakness: CWE-266.

High [CVE-2026-64261] Avoid use-after-free in fuse_uring_async_stop_queues

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fuse-uring: Avoid use-after-free in fuse_uring_async_stop_queues fuse_uring_async_stop_queues() might run when the last reference on ring->queue_refs was already dropped. In order to avoid an early destruction a reference on struct fuse_conn is now taken before starting fuse_uring_async_stop_queues() and that reference is only released when that delayed work queue terminates. This use-after-free vulnerability allows a local attacker to potentially achieve privilege escalation. The issue arises when the `fuse_uring_async_stop_queues()` function attempts to access memory that has already been freed, leading to unpredictable system behavior or unauthorized access. This flaw is mitigated by ensuring that a proper reference to the `fuse_conn` structure is maintained until the associated work queue has fully terminated. Red Hat severity: Important. Weakness: CWE-825. Red Hat lists Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 as not affected.

High [CVE-2026-64490] Validate control metadata from the device

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: virtio: Validate control metadata from the device virtio-snd control handling trusts the device-provided control type and value count returned by the device. That metadata is then used directly to index g_v2a_type_map[] in virtsnd_kctl_info(), and to size loops and memcpy() operations in virtsnd_kctl_get() and virtsnd_kctl_put() against fixed-size virtio_snd_ctl_value and snd_ctl_elem_value arrays. A buggy or malicious device can therefore trigger out-of-bounds access by advertising an invalid control type or an oversized value count. Validate control type and count once in virtsnd_kctl_parse_cfg(), before querying enumerated items or exposing the control to ALSA. The driver's control handling trusts this unvalidated metadata, leading to out-of-bounds access when processing sound control information. This vulnerability could allow a malicious device to cause a denial of service or potentially other impacts on the system. This represents a device-to-guest attack surface rather than a network- or packet-reachable vulnerability. Exploitation requires control over a virtio-snd device or its backend in order to provide crafted control metadata to the guest kernel. An ordinary unprivileged local user inside the guest cannot directly supply the required malicious metadata through normal ALSA interfaces.

High [CVE-2026-64395] require source read access for duplicate extents

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: require source read access for duplicate extents FSCTL_DUPLICATE_EXTENTS_TO_FILE passes the source file directly to vfs_clone_file_range() or vfs_copy_file_range() without checking the SMB access mask granted to the source handle. A handle opened with attribute access can consequently be used to copy file contents into an attacker-readable destination. Require FILE_READ_DATA on the source handle before either VFS operation, matching other ksmbd data-copy paths. This vulnerability allows an attacker with attribute access to a file to bypass security checks when duplicating file extents. By using the FSCTL_DUPLICATE_EXTENTS_TO_FILE function, an attacker can copy the contents of a source file to a destination that they can read, leading to information disclosure. Red Hat severity: Important. Weakness: CWE-358. Red Hat lists Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 as not affected.

High [CVE-2026-64384] fix change notify replay double-free

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: fix change notify replay double-free A response-bearing attempt can return a replayable error and free its response buffer. If SMB2_notify_init() fails before the next send, cleanup retains the previous buffer type and frees that response again. Reset response bookkeeping before each attempt to prevent the stale free. This vulnerability occurs due to a double-free error when handling change notify replies. If a response attempt returns a replayable error and frees its buffer, and then SMB2_notify_init() fails, the same buffer can be freed again. This can lead to memory corruption and potentially a denial of service. This vulnerability is rated as having Moderate severity for Red Hat Enterprise Linux because exploitation requires an established CIFS or SMB mount interacting with a malicious or faulty server under specific replay error conditions. Under standard deployments, systems that do not mount remote SMB shares or request directory change notifications are not exposed to this flaw. In the worst case, local denial of service through kernel crash or potential privilege escalation could occur if memory corruption is induced via a compromised remote file share. Weakness: CWE-1341. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.

High [CVE-2026-64515] fix MLE defragmentation

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mac80211: fix MLE defragmentation If either reconf or EPCS multi-link element (MLE) is contained in a non-transmitted profile, the defragmentation routine is called with a pointer to the defragmented copy, but the original elements. This is incorrect for two reasons: - if the original defragmentation was needed, it will not find the correct data - if the original frame is at a higher address, the parsing will potentially overrun the heap data (though given the layout of the buffers, only into the new defragmentation buffer, and then it has to stop and fail once that's filled with copied data. Fix it by tracking the container along with the pointer and in doing so also unify the two almost identical defragmentation routines. This can lead to a heap data overrun, which is a form of memory corruption that may result in system instability or unexpected behavior. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 7 (CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H). Weakness: CWE-823. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9. High [CVE-2026-64355] Reject fragmented frames in devmap

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Reject fragmented frames in devmap Devmap broadcast redirects clone the packet for all but the last destination. For native XDP, that clone path copies only the linear xdp_frame data, while fragmented frames keep skb_shared_info in tailroom outside the linear area. Cloning such a frame leaves XDP_FLAGS_HAS_FRAGS set but without valid frag metadata, and the later free path can interpret uninitialized tail data as skb_shared_info, leading to an out-of-bounds access during frame return. Add the same restriction to the generic XDP clone path in dev_map_redirect_clone(). Generic XDP represents fragmented packets as nonlinear skbs, and rejecting them here keeps clone-based broadcast support aligned between native and generic XDP. When handling devmap broadcast redirects, fragmented network frames are not properly managed during the cloning process. This can lead to an out-of-bounds access, where the system attempts to read or write data beyond the allocated memory, potentially causing system instability or denial of service. This vulnerability is rated as Moderate severity because triggering the issue requires non-standard configurations involving custom eBPF XDP programs actively utilizing broadcast redirection maps.

High [CVE-2026-64385] Kernel SMB client: Double-free vulnerability allows remote denial of service or privilege escalation

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: fix double-free in SMB2_ioctl() replay A response-bearing attempt can return a replayable error and free its response buffer. If SMB2_ioctl_init() fails before the next send, cleanup retains the previous buffer type and frees that response again. Reset response bookkeeping before each attempt to prevent the stale free. A malicious or compromised SMB server could exploit this by sending crafted responses during an I/O control (ioctl) replay sequence. This could lead to a remote denial of service due to a kernel crash, and potentially allow for privilege escalation. A double-free flaw was found in the Linux kernel SMB (Server Message Block) client's SMB2_ioctl() replay path, which Red Hat rates as IMPORTANT. The Red Hat Enterprise Linux kernel and kernel-rt packages in the RHEL 9.6.z, 9.8.z, 9.9, 10.0.z, 10.2.z, and 10.3 streams are affected, and fixes are being pursued for those streams. RHEL 6, RHEL 7, and RHEL 8, as well as RHEL 9.2 and 9.4, are not affected because the vulnerable code is not present in those kernels. Affected products named by the advisory: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10.0 Extended Update Support; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.6 Extended Update Support; Shadow Migration Toolkit for Virtualization for RHEL 10; Red Hat package: kernel.

High [CVE-2026-64396] Use-after-free vulnerability allows arbitrary code execution or denial of service

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: fix UAF of struct file_lock in SMB2_LOCK deferred-lock cancellation When a blocking byte-range lock request is deferred in the FILE_LOCK_DEFERRED path, ksmbd registers the asynchronous work into the connection's async_requests list via setup_async_work(). The cancel callback smb2_remove_blocked_lock() holds a reference to the flock. If the lock waiter is subsequently woken up but the work state is no longer KSMBD_WORK_ACTIVE (e.g., due to a concurrent cancellation), the cleanup path calls locks_free_lock(flock) without dequeuing the work from the async_requests list. Concurrently, smb2_cancel() walks the list under conn->request_lock and invokes the cancel callback, which then dereferences the already freed 'flock'. This leads to a slab-use-after-free inside __wake_up_common. Fix this by restructuring the cleanup logic after the worker returns from ksmbd_vfs_posix_lock_wait(). Move list_del(&smb_lock->llist) and release_async_work(work) to the top of the cleanup block. This guarantees that the async work is completely dequeued and serialized under conn->request_lock before locks_free_lock(flock) is called, rendering the flock unreachable for any concurrent smb2_cancel(). A local attacker could exploit a use-after-free vulnerability in the SMB2_LOCK deferred-lock cancellation mechanism.

High [CVE-2026-64300] Fix page UAF in map_range

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: perf/aux: Fix page UAF in map_range() map_range() reads rb->aux_pages[], rb->aux_nr_pages and rb->aux_pgoff via perf_mmap_to_page() while holding only event->mmap_mutex. Those fields are serialized by rb->aux_mutex, and mmap_mutex is per event. Thus, two events sharing one rb via PERF_EVENT_IOC_SET_OUTPUT can race rb_alloc_aux() with map_range(), leading to a page-UAF scenario as follows: CPU 0 CPU 1 ===== ===== rb_alloc_aux() map_range() [1]: allocate rb->aux_pages[0] [2]: rb->aux_nr_pages++ [3]: perf_mmap_to_page() returns rb->aux_pages[0] [4]: map it as VM_PFNMAP [5]: rb->aux_pgoff = 1 munmap the page [6]: free rb->aux_pages[0] Pages mapped as VM_PFNMAP have no refcount protection, so CPU 1 holds a mapping to a freed physical frame. Fix this by taking rb->aux_mutex across the page walk in map_range(). A use-after-free (UAF) vulnerability exists in the `map_range()` function due to a race condition. This can occur when two performance events share a ring buffer, allowing a local attacker to map a memory page that has already been freed. Exploiting this flaw could lead to arbitrary code execution or privilege escalation. Red Hat severity: Important — CVSS 7 (CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H). Weakness: CWE-825. High [CVE-2026-64265] clear intr_entry in fuse_resend and fuse_remove_pending_req

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fuse: clear intr_entry in fuse_resend and fuse_remove_pending_req When fuse_resend() moves a request from fpq->processing back to fiq->pending, it sets FR_PENDING and clears FR_SENT but does not remove the requests intr_entry from fiq->interrupts. If the request had FR_INTERRUPTED set from a prior signal, intr_entry remains dangling on fiq->interrupts. When the requesting task then receives a fatal signal, fuse_remove_pending_req() sees FR_PENDING=1, removes the request from fiq->pending and frees it via the refcount path, also without cleaning intr_entry. The stale intr_entry causes use-after-free when fuse_read_interrupt() iterates fiq->interrupts: - list_del_init(&req->intr_entry) -> UAF write on freed slab - req->in.h.unique -> UAF read, data leaked to userspace Remove intr_entry from fiq->interrupts in fuse_resend() for interrupted requests before they are placed back on fiq->pending. Add a WARN_ON if the intr_entry is not empty on request destruction. When a fuse request is interrupted and then resent, a specific interrupt entry (`intr_entry`) is not properly cleared. If the requesting task subsequently receives a fatal signal, this uncleared entry can lead to a use-after-free condition.
