In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: block: Avoid mounting the bdev pseudo-filesystem in userspace The bdev pseudo-filesystem is an internal kernel filesystem with which userspace should not interfere. Unregister it so that userspace cannot even attempt to mount it. This fixes a bug [1] that occurs when attempting to access files, because the system call move_mount() uses pointers declared in the inode_operations structure, which for the bdev pseudo-filesystem are always equal to 0. Medium [CVE-2026-53402] fix out-of-bounds read in err_out of fbcon_do_set_font

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fbdev: fbcon: fix out-of-bounds read in err_out of fbcon_do_set_font() When fbcon_do_set_font() fails (e.g., due to a memory allocation failure inside vc_resize() under heavy memory pressure), it jumps to the `err_out` label to roll back the console state. However, the current rollback logic forgets to restore the `hi_font` state, leading to a severe state machine corruption. Earlier in the function, `set_vc_hi_font()` might be called to change `vc->vc_hi_font_mask` and mutate the screen buffer. If `vc_resize()` subsequently fails, the `err_out` path restores `vc_font.charcount` but entirely skips rolling back the `vc_hi_font_mask` and the screen buffer. This mismatch leaves the terminal in a desynchronized state. Because `vc_hi_font_mask` remains set, the VT subsystem will still accept character indices greater than 255 from userspace and write them to the screen buffer. Subsequent rendering calls (e.g., `fbcon_putcs()`) will then use these inflated indices to access the reverted, 256-character font array, leading to a deterministic out-of-bounds read and potential kernel memory disclosure. Fix this by adding the missing rollback logic for the `hi_font` mask and screen buffer in the error path.

Medium [CVE-2026-53394] avoid leaking pre-allocated openowner on unconfirmed retry race

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: avoid leaking pre-allocated openowner on unconfirmed retry race When find_or_alloc_open_stateowner() encounters an unconfirmed owner, it calls release_openowner() and sets oo = NULL. Control then falls through past the `if (oo)` guard -- which would have freed any pre-allocated `new` -- and unconditionally executes `new = alloc_stateowner(...)`. If `new` was already allocated on a prior iteration, the pointer is silently overwritten and the previous allocation (slab object + owner name buffer) is leaked. This requires a race: two NFSv4.0 OPEN threads with the same owner string, where a concurrent thread inserts a new unconfirmed owner into the hash between retry iterations. The window is narrow but repeatable under adversarial conditions. Fix by adding `goto retry` after `oo = NULL` so the already-allocated `new` is reused on the next iteration rather than overwritten. A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Network File System (NFS) version 4.0 (NFSv4.0) OPEN implementation. This can lead to a memory leak where pre-allocated memory for an openowner is not properly released, potentially causing a Denial of Service (DoS) over time due to resource exhaustion. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: ath11k: fix warning when unbinding If there is an error during some initialization related to firmware, the buffers dp->tx_ring[i].tx_status are released. However this is released again when the device is unbinded (ath11k_pci), and we get: WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 6231 at mm/slub.c:4368 free_large_kmalloc+0x57/0x90 Call Trace: free_large_kmalloc ath11k_dp_free ath11k_core_deinit ath11k_pci_remove... The issue is always reproducible from a VM because the MSI addressing initialization is failing. In order to fix the issue, just set the buffers to NULL after releasing in order to avoid the double free. This vulnerability, a double free, occurs when memory buffers are incorrectly released twice during the device unbinding process after an initial firmware initialization error. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iio: light: veml6075: add bounds check to veml6075_it_ms index veml6075_it_ms has 5 elements but VEML6075_CONF_IT can yield values 0-7. If it returns a value >= 5, this causes an out-of-bounds array access. Add a bounds check and return -EINVAL if the index is out of range. The problem values are reserved so should never be read from the register. Hence this is hardening against fault device, missprogramming or bus corruption. The driver performs an out-of-bounds array access when processing certain index values from the `VEML6075_CONF_IT` register. This issue could potentially lead to system instability or a denial of service if triggered by a faulty device, misprogramming, or bus corruption. Red Hat severity: Moderate. Weakness: CWE-787. Medium [CVE-2026-63803] sync per-proto timers before freeing hdlc state

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: hdlc_ppp: sync per-proto timers before freeing hdlc state Each PPP control protocol (LCP/IPCP/IPV6CP) embedded in struct ppp registers a timer via timer_setup(). That struct ppp is the hdlc->state allocation, which detach_hdlc_protocol() frees with kfree() in both teardown paths: unregister_hdlc_device() and the re-attach inside attach_hdlc_protocol(). The ppp proto never registered a.detach callback, so detach_hdlc_protocol() performs no timer synchronization before the kfree(). The only cancel, timer_delete(&proto->timer) in ppp_cp_event(), is partial (it does not wait for a running callback) and only runs on the ->CLOSED transition; ppp_stop()/ppp_close() do not sync either. A ppp_timer callback already executing (blocked on ppp->lock) survives the kfree and then dereferences proto->state / ppp->lock in freed memory, leading to a use-after-free. Fix this by adding a.detach helper that calls timer_shutdown_sync() on every per-proto timer. detach_hdlc_protocol() invokes proto->detach(dev) before kfree(hdlc->state), so timer_shutdown_sync() now runs on both free paths. timer_shutdown_sync() is used instead of timer_delete_sync() because the keepalive path re-arms the timer through add_timer()/mod_timer() and shutdown blocks any re-activation during teardown.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: batman-adv: tp_meter: restrict number of unacked list entries When the unacked_list is unbound, an attacker could send messages with small lengths and appropriated seqno + gaps to force the receiver to allocate more and more unacked_list entries. And the end either causing an out-of-memory situation or increase the management overhead for the (large) list that significant portions of CPU cycles are wasted in searching through the list. When limiting the list to a specific number, it is important to still correctly add a new entry to the list. But if the list became larger than the limit, the last entry of the list (with the highest seqno) must be dropped to still allow the earlier seqnos to finish and therefore to continue the process. Otherwise, the process might get stuck with too high seqnos which are not handled by batadv_tp_ack_unordered(). A remote attacker could exploit an unbound list of unacknowledged packets by sending specially crafted messages. This could force the system to allocate excessive memory or waste significant CPU cycles, leading to a Denial of Service (DoS) condition. Red Hat severity: Moderate. Weakness: CWE-770.
