Medium [CVE-2026-14461] Denial of Service via crafted DNS responses
mtr is vulnerable to Out-of-bound read vulnerability in ipinfo_lookup() function. An attacker who can influence the TXT response used for AS lookups can trigger this bug by returning a DNS response that is larger than 512 bytes and uses a crafted compression pointer in the answer NAME field. ipinfo_lookup() function uses the length of the response as the end-of-message boundary for dn_expand() function. The result is a reliable crash. This issue exists in the mtr through version 0.96 and it was fixed in commit 48e1794414d338ce47abc0f27c25ade8788af9c3. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 6.5 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H). Weakness: CWE-823. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9. Will not fix / out of support: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6. Red Hat does not currently list a fixing RHSA for this CVE. Affected products named by the advisory: Red Hat package: mtr.
Medium [CVE-2026-42771] Possible Out of Bounds Read in X509_VERIFY_PARAM_set1_email
Issue summary: When the X509_VERIFY_PARAM_set1_email is called by an application to validate a crafted e-mail address, such as during S/MIME message validation, an out of bounds read can happen. Impact summary: This out of bounds read will not directly exfiltrate the data read to the attacker so the most likely result is a crash and a Denial of Service. An internal helper function called from X509_VERIFY_PARAM_[set|add]_email() used a wrong length when validating the local part of an email address. This could cause the 64 octet limit on the local part of an email address to be not enforced, or cause an out of bound read and potentially a crash. The bug is reachable via S-MIME validation with a crafted From: address supplied in an email message that can potentially cause a crash. No FIPS modules are affected by this issue as the affected code is outside the OpenSSL FIPS module boundary. A flaw was found in OpenSSL. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a malicious email, leading to an application crash and a Denial of Service (DoS). This flaw is rated as Low impact. A possible out-of-bounds read in OpenSSL's X509_VERIFY_PARAM_set1_email() function can occur when an application validates a specially crafted S/MIME email address. Red Hat severity: Low — CVSS 6.5 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H). Weakness: CWE-805.
Medium [CVE-2026-39244] Denial of Service via crafted ZIP file leading to excessive memory allocation
adm-zip before 0.5.18 is vulnerable to denial of service via a crafted ZIP file with a manipulated uncompressed size header field. In zipEntry.js line 103, Buffer.alloc(_centralHeader.size) allocates memory based on the declared uncompressed size from the ZIP central directory header without validating it against the actual compressed data size or imposing any upper bound. The size value is read directly from the binary header at entryHeader.js line 266 with no bounds check. An attacker can craft a ~120-byte ZIP file that declares ~4GB uncompressed size, causing a memory allocation amplification ratio of over 33 million to 1. The allocation occurs before CRC validation, so the malicious payload cannot be rejected early. All extraction and read methods are affected: readFile(), readAsText(), extractEntryTo(), extractAllTo(), extractAllToAsync(), test(), and entry.getData(). Any application accepting untrusted ZIP files via adm-zip is vulnerable to immediate process crash. A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by providing a specially crafted ZIP file. The file's header can be manipulated to declare an extremely large uncompressed size, causing the application to allocate an excessive amount of memory. A denial of service flaw exists in adm-zip, affecting applications that process untrusted ZIP archives.

Advisory [CVE-2026-53363] preserve shared-frag marker in iptfs_consume_frags
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfrm: iptfs: preserve shared-frag marker in iptfs_consume_frags() iptfs_consume_frags() transfers paged fragments from one socket buffer to another but fails to propagate the SKBFL_SHARED_FRAG flag. This is the same class of bug that was fixed in skb_try_coalesce() for CVE-2026-46300: when fragments backed by read-only page-cache pages are merged, the marker indicating their shared nature must be preserved so that ESP can decide correctly whether in-place encryption is safe. Apply the same two-line fix used in skb_try_coalesce() to iptfs_consume_frags(). A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's `iptfs` component, part of the IPSec framework. This can cause the Encapsulating Security Payload (ESP) to make incorrect security decisions regarding in-place encryption, potentially impacting the integrity or confidentiality of network traffic. Red Hat severity: not rated. Weakness: CWE-821. Red Hat lists Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 as not affected.

High [CVE-2026-58459] Command Injection via GPS device subtype allows arbitrary code execution
gpsd through release-3.27.5, fixed at commit 4c06658, contains a command injection vulnerability in gpsprof that allows attackers who control the GPS device subtype value to execute arbitrary shell commands by embedding backtick payloads in the gnuplot plot title without proper escaping. The subtype field sourced from a DEVICES JSON log entry or NMEA PGRMT sentence is written into a generated gnuplot program via a set title statement with only double-quote characters escaped, enabling arbitrary shell command execution as the user running gnuplot when the victim renders the generated plot through the gpsprof and gnuplot workflow. A flaw was found in gpsd, a service application that monitors one or more GPSes or AIS receivers. When a user processes a specially crafted plot through gpsprof and gnuplot, these embedded commands can be executed, leading to arbitrary code execution on the system. Exploitation requires user interaction. Red Hat severity: Important — CVSS 7.8 (CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H). Weakness: CWE-78.
