Low [CVE-2026-80231] Incorrect HTTPS connection reuse with Native CA Store
CVE-2026-80231Source published Source updated
A flaw in libcurl makes it wrongly reuse an existing HTTPS connection setup for a given hostname even when using a different Native CA Store setting (`CURLSSLOPT_NATIVE_CA`) than when the connection was created. This could potentially lead to a client trusting a malicious server if the initial connection used a less strict CA store than intended for subsequent connections. This Low impact flaw in libcurl arises from incorrect reuse of HTTPS connections when the `CURLSSLOPT_NATIVE_CA` option is employed with differing Native CA Store settings. This flaw does not affect any Red Hat products. Red Hat severity: Low — CVSS 3.7 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N). Weakness: CWE-295. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat Hardened Images.
