High [CVE-2026-56211] remote code execution via SVC layer context handling with attacker-controlled frames

A remote code execution vulnerability was found in libaom, the reference AV1 codec implementation. Insufficient bounds validation in the AV1 encoder's SVC (Scalable Video Coding) layer ID control allows an attacker to supply crafted video frame pixels that overlap with internal encoder layer context structures. In fork-based video processing services, an attacker can use this to hijack the cyclic refresh map pointer, brute-force the process base address via a crash oracle, and redirect control flow to achieve arbitrary command execution. Exploitation requires the target service to use libaom with SVC encoding enabled and accept attacker-supplied video frames. This vulnerability is rated as Critical severity because the researcher demonstrated successful remote code execution against a fork-based video processing service. The exploit chain leverages attacker-controlled pixel values to hijack internal encoder pointers, uses a crash oracle to brute-force ASLR, and ultimately achieves arbitrary command execution. However, the attack complexity is elevated: it requires a fork-based service architecture (for the crash oracle), multiple encoding attempts (for ASLR brute-force), and knowledge of the target binary layout. In Red Hat products, libaom ships bundled within Firefox and Thunderbird.

High [CVE-2026-45696] Denial of Service and potential information disclosure via crafted EXR file

OpenEXR is the reference implementation and specification for the EXR image format, widely used in the motion picture industry. In versions 3.4.0 through 3.4.11, the HTJ2K (High-Throughput JPEG 2000) decoder, ht_undo_impl() in OpenEXRCore is vulnerable to a heap-buffer-overflow READ. The ht_undo_imp function copies decoded pixels out of a per-line OpenJPH buffer using the EXR channel's declared width as the iteration count. The codestream embedded in the EXR chunk can declare different (smaller) tile/line dimensions than the EXR header advertises, but ht_undo_impl() does not validate this — it pulls width 32-bit samples from cur_line->i32[] without checking the OpenJPH line buffer's actual length. A crafted EXR file produces a 4-byte heap-buffer-overflow READ immediately after a buffer allocated by ojph::local::codestream::finalize_alloc(). The bug is reachable through the standard scanline-decode entry point used by every consumer of exr_decoding_run/Imf::checkOpenEXRFile, including thumbnailers, asset pipelines, and the exrcheck utility — i.e. any application that opens untrusted EXR files. The result is a deterministic crash (DoS) and potential adjacent-heap leak. This issue has been fixed in version 3.4.12. If an application opens a maliciously crafted EXR image file, it triggers a memory error.

High [CVE-2026-55200] libssh2 - Out-of-Bounds Write via Unchecked packet_length in transport.c

libssh2 through 1.11.1, fixed in commit 7acf3df contains an out-of-bounds write vulnerability in ssh2_transport_read() that fails to enforce upper bounds on packet_length field. Remote attackers can send crafted SSH packets with excessively large packet_length values to corrupt heap memory and achieve remote code execution. An out-of-bounds write vulnerability exists in the libssh2 client. A remote attacker can exploit this by sending a specially crafted SSH packet with an abnormally large length value. This corrupts the application's memory and can potentially allow the attacker to execute arbitrary code on the affected system. An Important out-of-bounds write vulnerability was discovered in libssh2. As it only impacts client installations of the library, exploitation would require a victim to initiate an SSH connection to an attacker-controlled server. This means an attacker must first redirect client connections via DNS poisoning, a man-in-the-middle, or compromise of a trusted host. While the vulnerability does not require authentication and requires no special configuration, the client redirection prerequisites significantly limit the practical attack surface compared to a server-side flaw. The integer overflow provides uncontrolled access to the heap, which reliably crashes the client process but is unlikely to achieve remote code execution in practice.

High [CVE-2026-9697] Man-in-the-Middle attack via ignored TLS options with SOCKS5 proxy

Impact: undici's ProxyAgent silently drops the requestTls option when configured with a SOCKS5 proxy URI (socks5:// or socks://). The target HTTPS connection through the SOCKS5 tunnel falls back to Node's default trust store, ignoring user-configured ca, cert, key, rejectUnauthorized, and servername settings. Applications that pin to an internal or corporate CA via requestTls.ca will, when their proxy URI is SOCKS5, get the default Mozilla CA bundle as the trust anchor instead. Any cert signed by any publicly-trusted CA for the target hostname is accepted, breaking the intended pin and enabling MITM read and tamper of the HTTPS exchange. Affected applications are those that use undici's ProxyAgent (or Socks5ProxyAgent directly) with SOCKS5 AND rely on requestTls for TLS scope restriction. The bug was introduced in undici 7.23.0 when SOCKS5 support was added. Patches: Upgrade to undici v7.28.0 or v8.5.0. Workarounds: No workaround is available within the SOCKS5 path. If a SOCKS5 proxy with TLS scope restriction is required and an upgrade is not yet possible, route the traffic through an HTTP-proxy ProxyAgent instead, where requestTls is honored correctly. When undici's ProxyAgent is configured with a SOCKS5 proxy Uniform Resource Identifier (URI), it silently ignores Transport Layer Security (TLS) options, such as custom Certificate Authorities (CAs).

High7.5Red Hat

High [CVE-2026-6734] Information disclosure and data integrity issues due to incorrect Socks5ProxyAgent connection routing

Impact: When using Socks5ProxyAgent, undici reuses a single connection pool across different origins without verifying that the pool's origin matches the requested origin. All requests are dispatched through the pool connected to the first origin, regardless of the intended destination. This causes cross-origin request routing: credentials and request data intended for origin B are sent to origin A, responses from the wrong origin are trusted, and HTTPS requests may be silently downgraded to HTTP. Impacted users are applications that use Socks5ProxyAgent (directly or via setGlobalDispatcher) and make requests to more than one origin. This was introduced in undici 7.23.0 via PR #4385 and affects all versions through 8.1.0. Patches: Upgrade to undici v7.26.0 or v8.2.0. Workarounds: Use a separate Socks5ProxyAgent instance per origin, or avoid using Socks5ProxyAgent with multiple origins. Consequently, responses from unintended origins may be trusted, and secure HTTPS connections could be silently downgraded to unencrypted HTTP, resulting in information disclosure and data integrity issues. This is rated as an Important security flaw. The `undici` library, when configured with `Socks5ProxyAgent` to handle requests for multiple origins, incorrectly reuses connection pools.

High [CVE-2026-12151] Denial of Service due to unbounded memory growth via WebSocket frames

Impact: The undici WebSocket client enforces maxPayloadSize on the cumulative byte count of fragments in a message but does not enforce a limit on the number of fragments. A malicious WebSocket server can stream many small or empty continuation frames that each pass per-frame and cumulative-size validation, collectively causing unbounded memory growth in the client process. The result is memory exhaustion and a denial of service. Affected applications are those using the undici WebSocket client (new WebSocket(...)) or the WebSocketStream API that can be induced to connect to an attacker-controlled or compromised WebSocket endpoint. All releases starting at undici 6.17.0 are affected. Patches: Upgrade to undici >= 6.26.0, >= 7.28.0, or >= 8.5.0. Workarounds: No workaround is available. The fix must be applied through an upgrade. A flaw was found in undici. This Important denial of service flaw in the `undici` WebSocket client allows a remote attacker to cause unbounded memory growth. By sending numerous small or empty WebSocket frames, an unauthenticated attacker can exhaust system memory, leading to a denial of service in Red Hat products that use the affected client. Red Hat severity: Important — CVSS 7.5 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H). Weakness: CWE-770.

High [CVE-2026-48779] Denial of Service via memory exhaustion from small WebSocket fragments

ws is an open source WebSocket client and server for Node.js. All versions from 1.1.0 up to (but not including) 5.2.5, from 6.0.0 up to 6.2.4, from 7.0.0 up to 7.5.11, and from 8.0.0 up to 8.21.0 are affected by a memory exhaustion DoS vulnerability. A peer can send a high volume of exceptionally small fragments and data chunks, with modest network traffic, to force the remote peer into allocating and holding structural wrappers that consume far more memory than the default documented message-size limit, leading to process termination due to OOM. This issue has been fixed in versions 5.2.5, 6.2.4, 7.5.11, and 8.21.0. This action forces the affected component to allocate and hold structural wrappers that consume excessive memory. Consequently, this leads to process termination and a denial of service (DoS) for the remote peer. This is an Important denial of service vulnerability in the `ws` WebSocket library. This can result in service disruption for Red Hat products that utilize `ws` for WebSocket communication. Red Hat severity: Important — CVSS 7.5 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H). Weakness: CWE-1050. Affected products named by the advisory: Cryostat 4 on RHEL 9; Red Hat AMQ Broker 7.13.6; Red Hat AMQ Broker 7.14.1; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; and 33 more.

High [CVE-2026-53704] out-of-bounds read in realmedia demuxer fileinfo metadata parser

A flaw was found in GStreamer's RealMedia demuxer in the gst-plugins-ugly package. When processing a RealMedia file containing a specially crafted FILEINFO metadata section, the demuxer parses variable-name and variable-value pairs using re_skip_pascal_string() without validating that offsets remain within the mapped buffer. Additionally, the element count controlling the parsing loop is read from attacker-controlled data without validation, which can cause an infinite loop. A crafted RealMedia file can cause the application to crash, hang, or potentially read limited adjacent memory contents. This flaw affects gstreamer1-plugins-ugly-free as shipped in Red Hat Enterprise Linux. RealMedia is a legacy container format with limited real-world usage. The upstream maintainer confirmed only out-of-bounds reads are present, which can lead to crashes and possible limited information disclosure. No code execution or memory corruption path has been identified. No upstream fix is available yet as the surrounding rmdemux code requires a broader rewrite. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 7.1 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:H). Weakness: CWE-125. High [CVE-2026-53703] out-of-bounds read in realmedia demuxer audio stream header parser

A vulnerability was found in the GStreamer RealMedia demuxer (gst-plugins-ugly). When processing a RealMedia (.rm) file, the demuxer parses MDPR (media properties) chunks to configure audio streams. For audio stream header versions 4 and 5, the parser reads fields such as codec type, packet size, sample rate, channel count, and extra codec data length from fixed offsets within the chunk without first checking that the chunk contains enough data. If a malicious file provides an MDPR chunk that is too small to contain a complete audio stream header, the parser reads beyond the end of the buffer. This can cause the application to crash. In some cases, bytes read past the buffer boundary may be incorporated into stream metadata, which could result in limited information disclosure. This flaw affects gstreamer1-plugins-ugly-free as shipped in Red Hat Enterprise Linux. RealMedia is a legacy container format with limited real-world usage.

High [CVE-2026-28369] request smuggling via malformed http request headers

A flaw was found in Undertow. When Undertow receives an HTTP request where the first header line starts with one or more spaces, it incorrectly processes the request by stripping these leading spaces. This behavior, which violates HTTP standards, can be exploited by a remote attacker to perform request smuggling. Request smuggling allows an attacker to bypass security mechanisms, access restricted information, or manipulate web caches, potentially leading to unauthorized actions or data exposure. High [CVE-2026-28368] Undertow: undertow: request smuggling via inconsistent header parsing

A flaw was found in Undertow. This vulnerability allows a remote attacker to construct specially crafted requests where header names are parsed differently by Undertow compared to upstream proxies. This discrepancy in header interpretation can be exploited to launch request smuggling attacks, potentially bypassing security controls and accessing unauthorized resources. This flaw in Undertow's header parsing logic allows for request smuggling attacks when Undertow is deployed behind an upstream proxy. Crafted requests can bypass security controls by being interpreted differently by Undertow and the proxy, potentially leading to unauthorized access or cache poisoning. High [CVE-2025-61662] Grub2: missing unregister call for gettext command may lead to use-after-free

A Use-After-Free vulnerability has been discovered in GRUB's gettext module. This flaw stems from a programming error where the gettext command remains registered in memory after its module is unloaded. An attacker can exploit this condition by invoking the orphaned command, causing the application to access a memory location that is no longer valid. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause grub to crash, leading to a Denial of Service. Possible data integrity or confidentiality compromise is not discarded. This vulnerability has been rated as have the impact of Moderate by the Red Hat Product Security team. High [CVE-2025-11234] Qemu-kvm: vnc websocket handshake use-after-free

A flaw was found in QEMU. If the QIOChannelWebsock object is freed while it is waiting to complete a handshake, a GSource is leaked. This can lead to the callback firing later on and triggering a use-after-free in the use of the channel. This can be abused by a malicious client with network access to the VNC WebSocket port to cause a denial of service during the WebSocket handshake prior to the VNC client authentication. This CVE has been rated as Moderate because it only affects the WebSocket protocol for communication (the VNC raw TCP socket is not affected) and the use of QEMU's in-process WebSocket feature is fairly niche. High [CVE-2025-4953] Podman: build context bind mount

A flaw was found in Podman. In a Containerfile or Podman, data written to RUN --mount=type=bind mounts during the podman build is not discarded. This issue can lead to files created within the container appearing in the temporary build context directory on the host, leaving the created files accessible. This issue is classified as Moderate rather than Important because exploitation requires several preconditions: an attacker must have unprivileged access to the host during the build process, the container build must include long-running steps (e.g., RUN sleep) that prolong the existence of the temporary build context, and files must be created with overly permissive permissions (e.g., 4777). The vulnerability does not allow remote code execution or compromise of running containers, and it only exposes files temporarily present in the build context. Therefore, while it can lead to information disclosure, the scope and impact are limited to local users with concurrent access, making the overall risk moderate. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 7.4 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N). Weakness: CWE-378. High [CVE-2025-7424] Libxslt: type confusion in xmlnode.psvi between stylesheet and source nodes

A flaw was found in the libxslt library. The same memory field, psvi, is used for both stylesheet and input data, which can lead to type confusion during XML transformations. This vulnerability allows an attacker to crash the application or corrupt memory. In some cases, it may lead to denial of service or unexpected behavior. This type confusion vulnerability in libxslt has been rated as Important due to its potential to corrupt memory and crash applications during XML transformations. The flaw stems from unsafe reuse of the psvi field between stylesheet and input nodes, causing the program to misinterpret internal data types. When malicious XSLT stylesheets are processed, this confusion can lead to memory corruption or denial-of-service. Given libxslt’s widespread use in web browsers, server-side applications, and XML processing pipelines, the impact of this vulnerability can extend to user-facing services and backend systems alike.
