CVE-2026-63843
Linux Kernel
Jul 19, 2026
Medium5.5Red Hat

Medium [CVE-2026-63837] Check return code before setting timestamp output

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: ena: PHC: Check return code before setting timestamp output ena_phc_gettimex64() is setting the output parameter regardless of whether ena_com_phc_get_timestamp() succeeded or failed. When ena_com_phc_get_timestamp() returns an error, the timestamp parameter may contain uninitialized stack memory (e.g., when PHC is disabled or in blocked state) or invalid hardware values. Passing these to userspace via the PTP ioctl is both a security issue (information leak) and a correctness bug. Fix by checking the return code after releasing the lock and only setting the output timestamp on success. A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Elastic Network Adapter (ENA) driver. The driver's Precision Time Protocol (PTP) Hardware Clock (PHC) support, specifically the `ena_phc_gettimex64()` function, fails to check the return code of an internal timestamp retrieval function. This oversight can lead to uninitialized or invalid memory being passed to userspace applications through the PTP ioctl, resulting in an information leak. This vulnerability allows a local user to potentially gain access to sensitive system information. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 5.5 (CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H). Weakness: CWE-201. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.

Medium [CVE-2026-63838] Fix potential out-of-bounds access of component_dais

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ASoC: rsnd: Fix potential out-of-bounds access of component_dais[] component_dais[RSND_MAX_COMPONENT] is initially zero-initialized and later populated in rsnd_dai_of_node(). However, the existing boundary check: if (i >= RSND_MAX_COMPONENT) does not guarantee that the last valid element remains zero. As a result, the loop can rely on component_dais[RSND_MAX_COMPONENT] being zero, which may lead to an out-of-bounds access. Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with SVACE. A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Advanced Linux Sound Architecture (ALSA) System on Chip (ASoC) Renesas Sound (rsnd) component. An incorrect boundary check during the population of the `component_dais` array can lead to an out-of-bounds memory access. This vulnerability occurs because a loop relies on an array element being zero, which is not guaranteed, potentially causing system instability or unexpected behavior. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 5.5 (CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H). Weakness: CWE-787. Affected Red Hat products: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10. Red Hat does not currently list a fixing RHSA for this CVE. Affected products named by the advisory: Red Hat package: kernel.

Medium [CVE-2026-64073] Fix use-after-free in irq_work_single on PREEMPT_RT

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: irq_work: Fix use-after-free in irq_work_single() on PREEMPT_RT On PREEMPT_RT, non-HARD irq_work runs in per-CPU kthreads via run_irq_workd(), so irq_work_sync() uses rcuwait() to wait for BUSY==0. After irq_work_single() clears BUSY via atomic_cmpxchg(), it still dereferences @work for irq_work_is_hard() and rcuwait_wake_up(). An irq_work_sync() caller on another CPU that enters after BUSY is cleared can observe BUSY==0 immediately, return, and free the work before those accesses complete — causing a use-after-free. Fix this by wrapping run_irq_workd() in guard(rcu)() so that the entire irq_work_single() execution is within an RCU read-side critical section. Then add synchronize_rcu() in irq_work_sync() after rcuwait_wait_event() to ensure the caller waits for the RCU grace period before returning, preventing premature frees. A flaw was found in the Linux kernel, specifically within the `irq_work` subsystem when running on systems configured with PREEMPT_RT. This vulnerability is a use-after-free, where the system attempts to access memory after it has been released. A local attacker could exploit this timing issue to cause a system crash, leading to a denial of service. In some scenarios, this type of flaw could potentially be leveraged for arbitrary code execution.

Medium [CVE-2026-64168] fix error pointer deref after DMA setup failure

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: spi: sprd: fix error pointer deref after DMA setup failure The driver falls back to PIO mode if DMA setup fails during probe. Make sure to check the dma.enabled flag before trying to release the DMA channels also on late probe errors to avoid dereferencing an error pointer (or attempting to release a channel a second time). This issue was flagged by Sashiko when reviewing a devres allocation conversion patch. This vulnerability occurs when the driver attempts to release Direct Memory Access (DMA) channels after a DMA setup failure during the probe phase. Without properly checking if DMA is enabled, the driver may try to dereference an invalid pointer or release an already released channel, which can lead to system instability or a denial of service. Red Hat severity: Moderate. Weakness: CWE-476. Red Hat lists Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 as not affected.
