Medium [CVE-2026-55206] Denial of Service via crafted.7z archives due to inefficient algorithmic complexity

py7zr is a Python-based library and utility to support 7zip archive compression, decompression, encryption and decryption. Prior to 1.1.3, PackInfo._read() in archiveinfo.py used an O(n^2) cumulative sum pattern for attacker-controlled numstreams values parsed from archive headers, allowing a crafted.7z archive to cause excessive CPU consumption during SevenZipFile.init() before extraction. This issue is fixed in version 1.1.3. A flaw was found in py7zr, a Python library for 7zip archives. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by providing a specially crafted.7z archive. This archive, when processed by the `SevenZipFile.init()` function, triggers an inefficient algorithmic complexity (CWE-407) during header parsing. This leads to excessive CPU consumption, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS) for any application that opens untrusted.7z archives using py7zr. This Moderate severity flaw in the `py7zr` library can lead to a Denial of Service. Applications that utilize `py7zr` to open or process untrusted `.7z` archives are vulnerable to excessive CPU consumption. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 6.5 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H). Weakness: CWE-606.

Medium [CVE-2026-55195] Denial of Service via decompression bomb in 7zip archive extraction

py7zr is a Python-based library and utility to support 7zip archive compression, decompression, encryption and decryption. Prior to 1.1.3, py7zr's Worker.decompress() extracted archive entries without tracking total decompressed size, allowing a crafted.7z file such as a 15.6 KB archive that expands to 100 MB to exhaust disk or memory before extraction completes. This issue is fixed in version 1.1.3. This vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) by providing a specially crafted.7z file. The `Worker.decompress()` function fails to track the total decompressed size, enabling a small archive to expand significantly and exhaust system resources such as disk space or memory during extraction. This issue is also known as a decompression bomb (CWE-409). This Moderate impact flaw in the py7zr Python library can lead to a denial of service when processing specially crafted 7zip archives. An attacker could provide a malicious archive that, upon decompression, exhausts system resources such as disk space or memory, impacting the availability of services that utilize py7zr for archive handling. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 6.5 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H). Weakness: CWE-409.

Medium [CVE-2026-58207] Denial of Service via arithmetic overflow in connection monitoring pagination

NATS Server is a high-performance server for NATS.io, the cloud and edge native messaging system. Prior to 2.14.3 and 2.12.12, a client able to send account-scoped connection monitoring requests could crash the server by supplying Connz pagination Offset and Limit values that overflowed internal arithmetic before the response window was safely bounded. This issue is fixed in versions 2.14.3 and 2.12.12. A flaw was found in NATS Server. This is achieved by providing pagination offset and limit values that cause an arithmetic overflow, leading to a Denial of Service (DoS). CVE.org and NVD independently assess this issue at different severities than Red Hat because CVE.org uses a Changed scope (S:C) in its CVSS vector, treating the crash as impacting components beyond the NATS Server process itself. Red Hat, consistent with NVDs own scoring, assesses the impact as scoped to the NATS Server process (Scope Unchanged), resulting in a CVSS score of 6.5 and a Moderate impact rating. Only account-scoped connection-monitoring requests can trigger the arithmetic overflow, and no Red Hat product runs an externally-reachable, unauthenticated NATS Server monitoring endpoint by default. Weakness: CWE-190. Affected Red Hat products: Multicluster Global Hub; Red Hat Ceph Storage 5; Red Hat Ceph Storage 6; Red Hat Ceph Storage 7; Red Hat Ceph Storage 8; Red Hat Ceph Storage 9.

Medium [CVE-2026-58251] Information disclosure due to bypass of subject deny rules via queue subscriptions

NATS Server is a high-performance server for NATS.io, the cloud and edge native messaging system. Prior to 2.14.0, 2.12.7, and 2.11.16, an authenticated user with subscription deny permissions could bypass a plain subject deny rule by using a queue subscription, because queue-specific deny evaluation could override the plain subject deny result when the queue name itself was not denied. This issue is fixed in versions 2.14.0, 2.12.7, and 2.11.16. An authenticated user with specific permissions could bypass security rules designed to deny access to certain message subjects. This bypass occurs when a queue subscription is used, allowing the user to access information that should otherwise be restricted. The consequence is unauthorized information disclosure, potentially exposing sensitive data. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 6.5 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N). Weakness: CWE-551. Medium [CVE-2026-59927] Denial of Service via unbounded recursion in Markdown include directive

Mistune is a Python Markdown parser with renderers and plugins. Prior to 3.3.0, the Include directive in src/mistune/directives/include.py detects only direct self-includes and not indirect cycles, allowing two markdown files that include each other to trigger unbounded recursion, raise RecursionError, and crash the rendering request. This issue is fixed in version 3.3.0. This oversight allows for unbounded recursion, which can lead to a `RecursionError` and crash the rendering request, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS) for the application using the parser. This flaw in the Mistune Include directive can cause a denial of service when an application explicitly enables the Include plugin and renders user-controlled Markdown files from disk. Exploitation requires an attacker to place at least two coordinated Markdown files on the include search path; default Mistune configurations that parse inline strings without the Include plugin are not affected. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 5.3 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:L). Weakness: CWE-835. Affected Red Hat products: Migration Toolkit for Applications 8; Red Hat OpenShift AI (RHOAI); Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4; Red Hat Satellite 6. Medium [CVE-2026-59928] Denial of Service via crafted Markdown document with reference-link definitions

Mistune is a Python Markdown parser with renderers and plugins. Prior to 3.3.0, a Markdown document containing many repeated or distinct reference-link definitions causes quadratic work in src/mistune/block_parser.py and the ref_links environment dictionary handling, allowing denial of service through CPU exhaustion. This issue is fixed in version 3.3.0. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by providing a specially crafted Markdown document containing numerous repeated or distinct reference-link definitions. This can lead to excessive processing, causing CPU exhaustion and a denial of service (DoS) for the affected system. This triggers excessive CPU consumption during parsing, which may render affected applications unresponsive and result in a denial of service. Red Hat uses PR:L because delivering the crafted Markdown document document to Mistune will require authenticated access in affected products, platform login/RBAC prevents unauthenticated remote submission in default deployments. The upstream PR:N score assumes any Internet-facing app parsing untrusted Markdown without authentication. Red Hat severity: Moderate — CVSS 6.5 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H). Weakness: CWE-606. Affected Red Hat products: Migration Toolkit for Applications 8; Red Hat OpenShift AI (RHOAI); Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4; Red Hat Satellite 6.
